(Minghui.org) Ms. Zhang Nanqi lives on Dongbaoxing Road in Zhabei District of Shanghai. On the night of March 16, 2012, she went to visit Ms. Huang Jianhua, who lives on Baochang Road. The two Falun Gong practitioners were illegally arrested by officers from the Zhijiang Police Station in Zhabei District. Afterward, five policemen went to ransack Ms. Zhang's home. They took away Falun Gong books and other property. Ms. Zhang's husband tried to stop the police, but they still forcibly confiscated a lot of things.
Ms. Zhang, in her 50s, worked in the Shanghai Exhibition Center. She started to practice Falun Gong in 1997. Several years ago, she was reported to police while she was explaining the facts about the persecution of Falun Gong to the people at her workplace. The police intended to arrest her, but were stopped by her supervisor. The supervisor said that Ms. Zhang worked diligently and was kind to others, so she definitely was not a bad person. The police then gave up.
In the years that followed, the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) personnel continued to harass and monitor Ms. Zhang. On occasion, there was evidence that her home had been searched while she was out, and money sometimes disappeared. Several days prior to her arrest, Ms. Zhang had gone to visit her mother, and the local police followed her there.
Ms. Zhang's husband is a former professor at a well-known university, and she has a son that is studying in the United States. Just because she is firm in her belief, she was taken to the detention center. Her family is very worried about her.
We request the attention of all kind people in the world to help stop this evil persecution.
