(Minghui.org) The Minghui website published several articles in December 2011 (http://www.clearwisdom.net/html/articles/2011/12/2/129817p.html and http://wif.clearwisdom.net/html/articles/2011/12/20/130237p.html) about the arrest of Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Wang Shengli, an 80-year-old retired Propaganda Department minister of the Anhui Province, Fuyang City Regional Committee of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP). Mr. Wang was arrested by police officers from the Fuyang Linquan County Domestic Security Bureau and the Linquan Police Department while having a meal with eight other Falun Gong practitioners. This was trumped up as the so-called “Major Case of Nine.” The presiding judge questioned why it was considered an illegal gathering, since there was no evidence in the entire dossier to support any charge of criminal activity; instead many testimonies confirmed that the nine people were only having a meal. The prosecutor was speechless and couldn't respond for a few minutes. After the presiding judge asked several times, the prosecutor uttered, “Having a meal together can be considered an illegal gathering...” Mr. Wang was unjustly sentenced to three years in prison. It would seem that currently in China, having a meal together has become an illegal activity.
In Aesop's Fables, there's a story about a wolf and a lamb. In order to justify eating the lamb, the wolf tries to accuse the lamb of having insulted him the year before, eating grass from his pasture, and drinking from his stream. The wolf even accused the lamb, who was drinking downstream, of muddying the waters upstream. Even after the lamb clearly proves her innocence on every point, the wolf nonetheless devours her. The CCP is like the old wolf—it will always make up various fallacies and excuses in an attempt to show its legitimacy before attacking the innocent.
The CCP wolves know that they will have lambs to eat as long as they follow the example of the old wolf, regardless of how idiotic the reasons for eating the lamb have become. In the process of arresting and detaining Falun Gong practitioners, the CCP thugs use outlandish excuses similar to “drinking from my stream.” Besides the “crime” of “having a meal together” in the case of Mr. Wang Shengli, they have used such excuses as “there were truth-clarification CDs in the car,” “the three characters, 'Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance,' were on the desk,” “people always visit,” “they have contacts overseas,” “he teaches people how to use a computer,” or, “he majored in computers and understands computer technology.” These have become reasons to arrest Falun Gong practitioners. One can't help but wonder whether there could be as many reasons to justify arrest and detention as there are human social behaviors!
Just as the lamb asked the wolf, “Why am I being eaten just because I drink by the river?” people will ask similar questions: “Which article of the law is this arrest based on?” Let's find out how the CCP has responded to such questions.
On March 6, 2012, four elderly practitioners from Longtang Village, Yunmen Town, Chongqing City in Hechuan County were arrested and beaten by officers from the local 610 Office and the police while reading Falun Gong books together at home. Mr. Zheng Kaiyuan was one of them. His son went to the local police station and inquired as to the grounds for the arrest and detention. The police had nothing to say. They then brought out and read a document from a few decades ago that deals with secret societies. Mr. Zheng's son pointed out that Falun Gong was not mentioned in this document. The police said, “That's how we interpreted it.”
The law was “interpreted!” China's Criminal Law General Provisions Article 3 states that conviction and sentencing are prohibited if the action is not expressly stipulated by the law as criminal acts. This is the principle of legality. These police officers could not find the legal basis for arresting the practitioners and relied on their “interpretation.” Having to operate under the cloak of “law enforcement” while still having to comply with the current CCP political environment, truly makes it difficult for these policemen.
In fact, what the police officer said was the truth. In the CCP's persecution of Falun Gong, all of the perpetrators, from top to bottom, rely on their “interpretation.” The CCP slandered Falun Gong and called it a cult, but the 14 cults listed by the Ministry of Public Security and the State Council do not include Falun Gong. In order to convict Falun Gong practitioners, the CCP cited Article 300 of the Criminal Law—the crime of “using a heretical organization to subvert the law.” But up until today nobody can figure out the slightest connection between this charge and Falun Gong. The entire world can prove that Falun Dafa is good. The entire world does not know how the CCP links this law to Falun Gong and which law's enforcement has been undermined by Falun Gong practitioners and to what extent. The degree of confusion is no less than not being able to figure out how a lamb drinking downstream muddied the water upstream.
Even the CCP itself cannot provide a convincing reason. Therefore, its operatives have no other way of filling this logical vacuum besides relying on their “interpretation” and political consciousness unique to the CCP. No wonder the reasons for persecution cover such a wide range.
The nature of the wolf is to eat the lamb. The nature of the CCP determined that it wants to eliminate Falun Gong, a peaceful practice that follows the principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance. All justifications for the persecution are nothing but excuses. The CCP's logic is produced according to the CCP's needs. The twisted logic that's revealed in the CCP's actions can be summed up as: “because your mind is filled with Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance you've gone against my philosophy and your very existence is our reason for arresting and persecuting you.”
Everything that Falun Gong practitioners do to clarify the truth, such as passing out truth-clarification materials and CDs, giving out copies of the Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party, sending truth-clarification text messages, telling friends that Falun Dafa is good, and posting truth-clarification messages in public, have become the CCP's excuse for persecution. Fundamentally these are practitioners' legitimate rights, but as viewed by the CCP, they are excuses for arrest, detainment, and unjust sentencing.
The CCP has stated, “Anything that's supported by the enemy, we have to oppose.” Over the course of the CCP's history, the landowners, the wealthy peasants, the capitalists, and the rightists were all its enemies and they were bound to be swept out. So inherently, there's no difference in the persecution of Falun Gong. The CCP's crimes against humanity have never stopped, only now it has put on the cloak of “Law” and created a big pile of false accusations – thus it has become even more deceptive.
However, Falun Dafa is a cultivation practice of the Buddha School and Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance are universal values. Only evil attacks what is good, and the CCP will certainly be exposed and judged by the Heavens. The cosmic climate has changed; the CCP cannot eradicate Falun Gong, and instead, it will destroy itself and collapse during the process of the persecution.
