(Minghui.org) May 13, 2012, marked the 20th anniversary of the introduction of Falun Dafa to the public and the 13th World Falun Dafa Day. Tom Barrett, Mayor of the City of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, proclaimed May 13, 2012, to be World Falun Dafa Day in the City of Milwaukee.

Whereas, the City of Milwaukee joins Falun Dafa practitioners in recognizing World Falun Dafa Day on Sunday, May 13, 2012; and
Whereas, Falun Dafa was first taught publicly in China in 1992 by Li Hongzhi who has been nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize four times, including this year, and
Whereas, Falun Dafa is a peaceful, spiritual practice rooted traditional Chinese culture that consists of meditation, five gentle sets of exercises and a moral philosophy centered on the values of truthfulness, compassion and tolerance; and
Whereas, Falun Dafa practitioners across the United States delicate countless hours to their communities in organizing free meditation classes, planning Chinese cultural productions of music and dance and participating in local events; and
Whereas, the City of Milwaukee joins Falun Dafa practitioners in recognizing their dedication to the Milwaukee community through their peaceful practice;
Now therefore, I, Tom Barrett, Mayor of the City of Milwaukee, do hereby proclaim Sunday, May 13, 2012, to be
World Falun Dafa Day
Throughout the City of Milwaukee.
