(Minghui.org) On May 11, 2012, Ms. Guan Shujun's family and relatives and the attorney they hired for her—five people in total—went to the Qianjin Forced Labor Camp. They wanted to file an appeal for Ms. Guan according to the legal procedure, in order to revoke Ms. Guan's forced labor sentence. However, the law enforcement officers in the Qianjin Forced Labor Camp ruthlessly confiscated the attorney's ID.
Guards in the Qianjin Forced Labor Camp initially asked to make a copy of the attorney's identification card in order to verify the attorney's identification. The attorney questioned them about the legal regulation this conformed to. Then, the guards said they just wanted to have a look at the attorney's identification card. However, they did not return it to the attorney after taking a look. In order to protect his own rights, the attorney called the Xinnong Police Station of Daoli District nearby. The attorney and the people with him called the police station more than ten times, but there was no response from the police station at all.
During this period, Ms. Guan's family and the attorney asked the labor camp to return the attorney's identification card, pointing out that the guards were breaking the law by confiscating it. However the forced labor camp called the Xinnong Police Station three times and claimed that their normal work was being disrupted by the attorney and the practitioner's family members.
Officers from the Xinnong Police Station came to the forced labor camp twice. They left after knowing what happened.
Later on, Wang Yaluo, Chief of the Qianjin Forced Labor Camp, called the Xinnong Police Station for the third time. Tian Xubin, deputy chief of the police station, led about ten policemen to the forced labor camp. They forcibly took the attorney and Ms. Guan's family and relatives to the police station. Tian Xubin was very harsh towards them. The police forced the attorney and the people with him to turn in their cell phones; the police also did body searches on the group and checked their bags. The attorney and his companions were detained there for three hours.
