(Minghui.org) Zhouguan Village in Hebei Province was a small, obscure village before an event attracted attention worldwide. Representatives from each family of this village and neighboring villages signed and pressed their fingerprints (altogether 300 fingerprints) on a document declaring that Mr. Wang Xiaodong, who had been illegally arrested and held, is a good person.
Taking on the Most Difficult Tasks
Mr. Wang's relatives said that when he was young, he was very shrewd and that his siblings did not fight with him but instead gave in to him whenever there was a conflict. After practicing Falun Dafa, Mr. Wang changed his behavior.
Once, the village took on a sewage project, digging ditches for laying pipes. Some villagers would avoid the places where it was difficult to dig. Mr. Wang did not differentiate and dug even where it was difficult.
Not Fighting Back When Wrongfully Blamed
Mr. Wang once raised dozens of chickens at his home. One day, several of his neighbor's chickens went missing. His neighbor thought that a few of Mr. Wang's chickens looked like his, so he chased those chickens back to his own yard. He then stood at Mr. Wang's front door, scolding him. Mr. Wang did not talk back because he knew that the requirement for a practitioner is to "not fight back when being punched or insulted." (Lecture Four, Zhuan Falun)
Afterward, the neighbor found his missing chickens and realized that he had wrongfully blamed Mr. Wang. He felt embarrassed and secretly returned Mr. Wang's chickens.
Letting the Driver Who Hit Him Go On
Shortly after Mr. Wang started practicing Falun Gong, he was hit by a motorcycle and his pants were torn open. Keeping in mind that he was a practitioner, Mr. Wang did not give the driver a hard time and instead let the driver go without asking for any compensation. Upon returning home, Mr. Wang had pains in his leg for only a few days.
Teachers Ask Mr. Wang for Solutions
According to Mr. Wang's relatives, he studied very hard and had a very good GPA in school. He enrolled in Cangzhou Teachers College with an excellent academic record. Later on, when he was teaching classes at Fengtun Elementary School, some of the teachers would come to him for help to solve difficult questions, and he was always able to help them out.
Refusing to Do False Accounting
Around 1998, the principal of Guozhuang Elementary School in Jiaohe Town assigned Mr. Wang to be the accountant, since he saw that Mr. Wang was responsible. The principal asked Mr. Wang to falsify the accounts and cheat the government. Mr. Wang said, “I'm a Falun Gong practitioner, and I won't do things against my conscience.” The principal got angry and soon removed him from the accountant position.
When the persecution of Falun Gong began in 1999, the principal, who held a grudge after Mr. Wang refused to falsify the accounts, took Mr. Wang to meet with the Party secretary of Jiaohe Town, the town mayor, and the principal of the town middle school. They asked Mr. Wang, “Do you want to keep your job or keep practicing Falun Gong?” Mr. Wang resolutely opted to keep practicing and was fired.
On February 25, 2012, over 30 officers from the Botou Municipal Police Department illegally arrested Mr. Wang without showing any identification or following detention procedures.
In order to defend Mr. Wang's good character, every family in the village sent a representative to sign and fingerprint a document vouching for his innocence. The village residential committee even put its official stamp on the document. This document with 300 fingerprints passed through many hands, reaching the highest leaders in China and causing quite a shock.
