(Minghui.org) Falun Gong practitioners from Madison, Wisconsin, held a candlelight vigil on July 20, 2012, in front of the city hall, commemorating those who have been tortured to death during the 13-year long persecution of Falun Gong in China.
The practitioners made 300 paper lotus flowers, and formed a large lotus flower pattern on the lawn in front of city hall. The candlelight vigil attracted many people who viewed the truth-clarifying materials and talked to practitioners.

The candlelight vigil
A gentleman from New York who was taking photos around the city of Madison was touched by the candlelight vigil. He waited until the end of the vigil, then asked practitioners to sit in the center of the candlelight circle, and took a series of photos. A Chinese gentleman took photos of every truth-clarifying display board, and showed practitioners his photos. His family studied the boards when he was taking the pictures. A Chinese restaurant owner, who is a supporter of Falun Gong, came to the vigil with his daughter. He told practitioners that many workers in his restaurant also support Falun Gong and have quit the Chinese Communist Party. He learned that practitioners hadn't had dinner that night, so he went back to the restaurant and cooked a dozen dishes. When practitioners tried to pay him, he refused, because he wanted to express his support in this way.
