(Minghui.org) Every weekend at the bustling subway station in Bucheon, South Korea, people can find Falun Gong practitioners displaying informational posters and talking to passersby about the practice and the ongoing persecution in China. Every weekend, many more people learn about Falun Gong and the brutal persecution and sign the petition to express their support. Most recently, practitioners have been gathering public support to help rescue a local Bucheon resident's mother, who is being imprisoned in China for practicing Falun Gong.

Practitioner Ms. Yang Liping is a local resident who immigrated from Mainland China. Ms. Zhu Chunju, Yang’s mother, is a Chinese national from Fangzheng County, Heilongjiang Province. Ms. Zhu was illegally arrested from her home on August 16, 2011, for her belief in Falun Gong. She was later sentenced to six years in prison and is now in Harbin Women's Prison.
In order to rescue her mother, Ms. Yang has been collecting signatures at the Bucheon subway station every weekend. Upon learning of Ms. Zhu’s story, many Koreans have signed the petition without hesitation and also expressed their heartfelt wishes for Ms. Zhu's release.
At the same time, Ms. Yang Liping’s sister, who lives in Japan, has been seeking help from the Japanese Department of Foreign Affairs and elected officials to help rescue their mother. Amnesty International in Japan also sent a letter to the Chinese government, requesting Ms. Zhu's release.
