(Minghui.org) On the occasion of the 13th anniversary of Falun Gong practitioners’ peaceful protests opposing the persecution in China, many United States Members of Congress sent letters to express their support for Falun Gong practitioners’ tireless efforts to end the persecution. On July 10, 2012, US Congressman Frank Wolf from Virginia wrote the following letter in support of Falun Gong practitioners grand public rally in Washington, DC, opposing the CCP's persecution of Falun Gong. Congressman Wolf condemned the CCP as oppressive. He pointed out that Falun Gong practitioners are among the groups that have suffered the most at the hands of the ruling communist party. He also hand-wrote on the letter: “Freedom is coming to China.”
Congress of the United States
House of Representatives
July 10, 2012
Dear Friends:
I regret that I am unable to join you today but wish you well for a successful rally.
The persecution of Falun Gong practitioners in China is well-known and documented. The State Department’s recently-released annual human rights report found that, “Overseas and domestic media and advocacy groups continued to report instances of organ harvesting, particularly from Falun Gong practitioners and Uighurs.” The report continued, “Family members of activists, dissidents, Falun Gong practitioners, journalists, unregistered religious figures, and former political prisoners were targeted for arbitrary arrest, detention, and harassment.”
The Chinese government is an equal oppressor and Falun Gong practitioners are among the groups that have suffered the most at the hands of the ruling communist party.
I pray for the day, and it will come, when true freedom, democracy and respect for basic human rights and religious freedom sweeps through China. I remain committed to pressing not only the Chinese government, but also our own State Department, and this administration, to prioritize these issues.
Best wishes.
Sincerely,
Frank R. Wolf
Member of Congress
