(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 33 cities or counties in 13 provinces. In this report, 32 Falun Gong practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention, and at least 38 practitioners were illegally arrested.

1. [Chongqing] Mr. Kuang Liang Detained, on Hunger Strike

Mr. Kuang Liang, a Falun Gong practitioner from Wanzhou District, Chongqing, is an official at the Labor Union of Salt Industry Bureau. He was taken to the Zhoujiaba Drug Rehabilitation Center (used as a detention facility) on June 28, 2012. Mr. Kuang has started a hunger strike to protest the persecution.

2. [Qiqihar City, Heilongjiang Province] Mr. Zhang Huabin Detained

Mr. Zhang Huabin from Nianzishan District, Qiqihar City, was arrested at home and taken to the Yuejin Police Station on the afternoon of June 18, 2012. His computer, printer and other items were confiscated. Mr. Zhang is being held in the Longjiang County Detention Center in Qiqihar. This is the fourth time Mr. Zhang has been arrested for practicing Falun Gong.

3. [Panjin City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Zhang Yunxiu Detained

Ms. Zhang Yunxiu from Xinglongtai District, Panjin City, was arrested by officers from the Xinxing Police Station in Dawa County on July 3, 2012. Her home was later ransacked and her Falun Gong books, printer and other items were confiscated. Ms. Zhang is being held in the Panjin City Detention Center.

4. [Dongfeng County, Jilin Province] Three Practitioners Arrested

Mr. Li Feng (alias) and Ms. Yu Ping from Dongfeng County and a practitioner from Liaoyuan City were arrested in Dongfeng on the afternoon of July 1, 2012. Mr. Li's and Ms. Yu's homes were ransacked. Mr. Li is being held in the Dongfeng County Detention Center. Ms. Yu is incarcerated in the Liaoyuan City Detention Center.

5. [Shanghai] Ms. Wang Yuxia Detained for Over 9 Months

Ms. Wang Yuxia from Heilongjiang Province was arrested by security staff and taken to the Pudong New District Detention Center for handing out informational materials about Falun Gong in Wanbang Urban Garden Residential Quarters, Pudong New District, Shanghai, in September 2011. She is still detained.

6. [Liaoning Province] Practitioners Persecuted in Liaoning Provincial Women's Prison

Ward No. 8 of the Liaoning Provincial Women's Prison is where practitioners are persecuted most severely. Ms. Wang Suxia died from torture in October 2008. Ms. Wang Shumei and Ms. Sheng Lixia have been tortured daily with various means, including deprivation of sleep and talking, and having their mouths sealed with tape if they speak. They are monitored and required to perform labor every day. In the evenings, inmates Jiao Yan, Yang Tiancai, Liu Yujie and others tie them tightly to the beds. Ms. Sheng has started a hunger strike to protest the torture.

7. [Jilin Province] Ms. Zhao Shuhua Arrested

Ms. Zhao Shuhua, 64, is from Chuanying District, Jilin City. She was reported to police and taken to the Changchunlu Police Station in Chuanying District for explaining the facts about Falun Gong to people on the morning of July 1, 2012. Officers from the Changchunlu Police Station ransacked her home that evening and confiscated some informational DVDs about Falun Gong.

Ms. Zhao is being held in the Jilin City Detention Center. Her family have not been allowed to visit her.

8. [Qingdao City, Shandong Province] Ms. Liu Zhihui and Ms. Li Shufen Detained

Ms. Liu Zhihui and Ms. Li Shufen from Licang District, Qingdao City, were reported to police and arrested by officers from the Zhenhualu Police Station for speaking to people about Falun Gong on the afternoon of July 2, 2012. They were transferred to the Dashan Detention Center in Qingdao the next evening.

9. [Fuxin City, Liaoning Province] Three Practitioners Sent to Masanjia Forced Labor Camp

Ms. Huang Muhua, Ms. Yang Guizhen, Ms. Yang Guirong and Ms. Zhen Shijie were arrested by officers from the Zidutai Police Station for handing out informational materials about Falun Gong in Zidutai Township on the morning of May 29, 2012. Ms. Huang Muhua, Ms. Yang Guizhen, and Ms. Yang Guirong were later taken to the Xindi Detention Center. Ms. Zhen Shijie was sent to the Fumeng County Detention Center.

Subsequently, Ms. Huang Muhua, Ms. Yang Guirong and Ms. Zhen Shijie were sent to the Masanjia Forced Labor Camp in Liaoning Province for a term of 15 months, 17 months and 12 months, respectively. Ms. Yang Guizhen failed a physical exam and was released.

10. [Xinxiang City, Henan Province] Mr. Zheng Xingquan Arrested

Officers from the Domestic Security Division of the Railway Police Department, affiliated with the Zhengzhou City Railway Bureau, arrested Mr. Zheng Xingquan, a retired employee of the railway bureau, on July 2, 2012. They ransacked his home and confiscated his Falun Gong books. Mr. Zheng is being held in the Railway Traffic Police No.3 Team.

The same group of officers arrested Mr. Niu Zuhong, Ms. Ma Xiaoyan and Ms. Li Meihua at an earlier time.

11. [Tanghai County, Hebei Province] Ms. Zheng Lanrong and Her Husband Detained

Ms. Zheng Lanrong from Tanghai County No.10 Farm in Tangshan City was arrested at home on the morning of July 4, 2012. Officers carrying out the arrest included Li Fuguo from the Tanghai County Domestic Security Division. Ms. Zheng's husband, Mr. Wu Qingmin, was detained when he went to the police department to demand the release of his wife. The couple were taken to a detention center that afternoon and were scheduled to be sent somewhere else the next morning.

12. [Zibo City, Shandong Province] Ms. Wang Zhenxiu Arrested

Ms. Wang Zhenxiu from Zhangdian District, Zibo City was arrested at home by officers from the Tiyuchang Police Station in Zhangdian District on July 3, 2012. Items ransacked from her home filled up a car.

13. [Chaohu City, Anhui Province] Mr. Liu Kehong Arrested

Mr. Liu Kehong was recently arrested by officers from the Chaohu City Police Department.

14. [Linxia County, Gansu Province] Six Practitioners Arrested

Under orders from the Linxa County Communist Party Secretary An Huashan, Linxia County Police Department director Wang Jianlin led a group of officers to arrest six practitioners on the evening of June 6, 2012. Five of the practitioners--Ms. Wang Jinfen (about 60 years old), Ms. Ga Hong, Mr. Li Jiankui (over 60 years old), Mr. Li's wife Ms. Zhang Yuexiang (about 60 years old), and their daughter Ms. Li Mengbing (16 years old)--are from Nanyuan Township. The other practitioner, Mr. Jia Chunzhen, about 70 years old, is from Xinji Town.

Ms. Zhang Yuexiang was released on June 11, 2012.

15. [Xinzhou, Shanxi Province] Three Practitioners Detained

Ms. Bai Ruifang, 52, Ms. Qi Guilan, 51, and Ms. Ge Liping, 60, from the downtown area of Xinzhou City were reported to police and subsequently arrested for speaking to people about Falun Gong and handing out informational materials in Wuzhai County, Xinzhou City, on the morning of July 4, 2012. They were held in the Wuzhai County Detention Center for 15 days.

16. [Lanzhou City, Gansu Province] Ms. Lu Arrested

Ms. Lu was arrested on July 4, 2012.

17. [Shijiazhuang City, Hebei Province] Ms. Wu Zhifang's Forced Labor Term May Be Extended

Ms. Wu Zhifang from Qianxi County, Tangshan City, was sent to the Shijiazhuang Women's Forced Labor Camp for a term of one year. Her term expired on July 5, 2012. However, the labor camp authorities did not release her and intend to extend her term.

18. [Xinyang City, Henan Province] Mr. Si Deli Taken to Mi County Prison

Mr. Si Deli, was arrested on June 7, 2011. After being detained for 13 months, he was sentenced to 5.5 years in prison. Agents from the Xinyang City 610 Office sent him to the Mi County Prison in Henan Province on the morning of June 21, 2012.

Mr. Si is 60 years old and was a principal painting artist at the Shihe District Culture Center in Xinyang City. Previously, he was arrested three times and spent 8 years in prison for his belief in Falun Gong.

19. [Lanzhou City, Gansu Province] Six Practitioners Held in Liugouhe Forced Labor Camp

Six Practitioners, including Ms. He Xiaolan, are being held in Liugouhe Forced Labor Camp.

20. [Mengyin County, Shandong Province] Mr. Yang Shuming and Ms. Zhang Yuanlan Detained

Mr. Yang Shuming from Yangjialinzi Village, Jiuzhai Township, Mengyin County, was recently arrested and is being held in the Mengyin County Detention Center.

Ms. Zhang Yuanlan, from the residential area of the Mengyin County Medical Materials Corporation, has been detained in the Linyi City Brainwashing Center for almost half a month.

21. [Tangshan City, Hebei Province] Ms. Chen Manrong Taken to Shijiazhuang City Women's Labor Camp

Officers from the Linxi Police Station in Guye District, Tangshan City, arrested Ms. Chen Manrong from Tangjiazhuang on the morning of June 27, 2012, and sent her to the Shijiazhuang City Women's Forced Labor Camp the same day.

22. [Dalian City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Chen Jinglan Detained

Ms. Chen Jinglan, 67, from Qujia Village, Shuangdao Community, Lushun, Dalian City, was arrested at home by officers from the Shuangdao Town Police Station on July 4, 2012. She was taken to the Dalian City Drug Rehabilitation Center (used as a detention facility).

23. [Zibo City, Shandong Province] Ms. Wang Zhenxiu and Another Practitioner Arrested

Ms. Wang Zhenxiu from Zhangdian District, Zibo City, is a former employee of the Qilu Petrochemical Corporation. She and another elderly practitioner were arrested at her home. Ms. Wang's home was also ransacked.

24. [Changzhou City, Jiangsu Province] Mr. Sun Jianhua Detained

Mr. Sun Jianhua from Changzhou City was reported to police and arrested by officers from the Hongmei Police Station for explaining facts about Falun Gong to people on the morning of June 20, 2012. His home was ransacked that evening. Mr. Sun was later sent to the Xilin Detention Center of Changzhou and has been held there ever since.

25. [Tang County, Hebei Province] Ms. Gao Changqiu Detained

Ms. Gao Changqiu, Mr. Kang Zhongyao, and Ms. Chen Xueshan from Tang County were arrested by officers from the Shimen Township Police Station for handing out informational materials about Falun Gong in Shimen Township on July 3, 2012. Mr. Kang Zhongyao and Ms. Chen Xueshan were released the next day. Ms. Gao Changqiu is being held in the Tang County Detention Center.

26. [Wendeng City, Shandong Province] Ms. Fu Chunhua Detained

Ms. Fu Chunhua was arrested at home by officers from the Domestic Security Division on July 3, 2012. She is being held in a detention center.

27. [Fujin City, Heilongjiang Province] Three Practitioners' Homes Ransacked

Wang Xinchun from the Xinglong Police Station and agents from the Fujin City 610 Office and the Fujin Political and Legal Affairs Committee barged into Mr. Tian Shiwu's home on the afternoon of July 2, 2012. Nobody was home at the time. The agents ransacked the home and confiscated electronic books and other items.

They also went to Mr. Xu Zhongrang's home in the same village and confiscated his personal belongings. They then went to the neighboring village and ransacked Ms. Li Rongtang's home. Ms. Li was not home at the time. The agents harassed her family members and confiscated her laptop computer, her family's 1,000 yuan in cash, and other items.

28. [Huazhou City, Guangdong Province] Ms. Chen Xiu Arrested

Ms. Chen Xiu from Huazhou City was arrested by agents from the local 610 Office and the local police station at her store on the afternoon of July 5, 2012.

29. [Wuhan City, Hubei Province] Elderly Ms. Liang Zhuan Arrested

An officer from the Domestic Security Division of the Qiaokou Police Department in Wuhan City called Ms. Liang Zhuan's son on the evening of July 4 ,2012, and informed him that his mother had been arrested for handing out informational flyers about Falun Gong on a street. Ms. Liang, 65, was sent to the Wuhan City Detention Center.

Ms. Liang is originally from Xiantao City, Hubei Province, and came to Wuhan City in 2012 to help to care for her 5-year-old grandson. After Ms. Liang was detained, her son had to quit his job and stay home to take care of his son.

30. [Danjiangkou City, Hubei Province] Ms. Chang Meihua Arrested

Ms. Chang Meihua, 66, is from Danjiangkou City, Shiyan Area, Hubei Province. She was arrested by plainclothes police on the evening of June 16, 2012, for handing out informational VCDs about Falun Gong. Ms. Chang is being held in the Danjiangkou City No.1 Detention Center.

31. [Meizhou City, Guangdong Province] Ms. Liao Xiaoping and Ms. Wang Chunmei Detained

Ms. Liao Xiaoping and Ms. Wang Chunmei from Jiangbei, Meizhoucheng Ditrict, Meizhou City, were arrested for handing out Shen Yun Performing Arts DVDs in a western suburb of Meicheng on the morning of July 4, 2012. They were initially held in the Xijiao Police Station and then taken to the Qinhuang Detention Center in Meijiang District in the afternoon.

32. [Chongqing] Ms. Li Shubi Detained

Ms. Li Shubi, 72, from Tonglian, Chongqing , was reported to police for speaking to people about Falun Gong on May 13, 2012. Police ransacked her home and took her to the Tongliang Detention Center.

33. [Honghu City, Hubei Province] Four Practitioners in Custody

Ms. Wang Xinyu, Ms. Xiong Zhengying, Ms. Guan Hongjuan and Ms. Yu Yan were recently arrested and are still in custody.

34. [Xianyou County, Fujian Province] Ms. Li Qiongying Arrested

Ms. Li Qiongying, in her 60s, from Zhongyue Village, Duwei Town, Xianyou County, was arrested on June 21, 2012.

Previously, because of her belief in Falun Gong, she was severely persecuted by Zeng Jinxiong, chief of the First Section of the Xianyou County Police Department, and sentenced to 6.5 years in prison. She was released on November 19, 2010.

35. [Guangzhou City, Guangdong Province] Mr. Zhao Detained

Over 10 agents from the Tangxia Police Station, the Tangxia Community Office and the Fengye Residential Committee in Tianhe District, Guangzhou City, barged into elderly Mr. Zhao's home in Lideyashe, ransacked his home, and confiscated his computer, printer, books and other items. Mr. Zhao, in his 70s, was doing housework at the time. Officers detained him and tried to coerce him into giving a confession. Mr. Zhao developed severe symptoms of sickness as a result.

36. [Chuxiong Region, Yunnan Province] Four Practitioners Arrested

Agents from the Chuxiong Political and Legal Affairs Committee, 610 Office and Domestic Security Division arrested Ms. Liu Zhiping, Mr. Bai Longjun, Mr. Hou Fayong and Ms. Deng Lihua from Chuxiong on the morning of July 3, 2012. They ransacked the practitioners' homes and took them into custody.
