(Minghui.org) About eight police officers from Xinhuang County, Hunan Province arrested two elderly Falun Gong practitioners at a market on the morning of August 6, 2012. They said that someone reported the practitioners for speaking with people about Falun Gong and handing out truth clarification CDs. The practitioners were later released, but the county 610 Office instructed several officers to arrest one practitioner again and detained her for two weeks.
The two practitioners were Ms. Yang Dongyue, in her 70s, and Ms. Yang Yanduan, in her 60s, from Xinhuang County. They were speaking with people about Falun Gong and handing out informational CDs at a market around 9:00 a.m. on August 6, when about eight officers led by Yang Tianxi from the Chengzhen Police Station came and arrested them. The police took them into custody at the county's Domestic Security Division.
610 Office deputy head Yao Xuemei and Domestic Security Division head Cao Riquan called for two police officers to interrogate the practitioners in an attempt to find where the CDs were from. Yao and Cao also ordered a police officer to put the two practitioners' cell phone numbers into the computer system and forced Ms. Yang Dongyue to give her fingerprints on the interrogation record before releasing her. Ms. Yang Yanduan refused to give her fingerprints but was also released at the same time.
However, Ms. Yang Yanduan hadn't gone much further before three police officers chased and stopped her. They handcuffed her, shoved her into a police vehicle and took her to a detention center. She was detained for two weeks before her release.
