(Minghui.org) Falun Gong Practitioner Ms. Zhang Yisu from the Dongcheng District of Beijing was arrested by neighborhood committee agents and police station officers, who broke into her house on August 27, 2013, and took her to a brainwashing center.
She had previously been held in the Beijing Women’s Forced Labor Camp and was not released until June of this year (2013). She had her freedom for less than two months before being taken to the brainwashing center.
Ms. Zhang was arrested in June 2012 and held in a forced labor camp for two and half a years because she rented a room in her house to Falun Gong practitioner Cao Dong.
Details of the Initial Incident
As Ms. Zhang arrived home after work at around 8:00 p.m. on June 8, 2012, about eight police officers suddenly swarmed in front of her home and forced their way into her house behind her. They were looking for Mr. Cao, who had rented a room in her house.
Practitioner Mr. Cao Dong was a graduate of Beijing Foreign Language University. He had met with the vice chairman of the European Union Parliament in 2006, and described the persecution that he, his wife, and other practitioners had suffered.
Mr. Cao was arrested by agents of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) and sentenced to five years in prison. His wife, practitioner Ms. Yang Xiaojing, died on October 1, 2009, after being arrested and persecuted many times and forced to stay away from home. Mr. Cao was released on September 28, 2011. He went to Beijing to bury his wife and tried to find a job in Beijing while organizing the belongings that his wife had left behind. Ms. Zhang provided living quarters for him, which aggravated the police.
Ms. Zhang was detained first in the Beijing Dongcheng District Detention Center after her arrest, and then taken to a forced labor camp a month later. When she was being held in the detention center, the police kept interrogating and threatening her and deprived her of food. They tried to find reasons and excuses from what she said to charge Mr. Cao and sentence him, but to no avail.
The forced labor camp system had such a bad reputation that the CCP has recently been forced to shut it down. Beijing Forced Labor Camp released Ms. Zhang in June 2013, because it was being closed.
Although some of the forced labor camps are being closed, the CCP’s persecution of Falun Gong still continues. Some forced labor camps terms have been replaced with brainwashing sessions.
After Ms. Zhang went home, the director of Guowang Neighborhood Committee and CCP secretary Wang Qin began calling her to threaten her, telling her that they would take her to a brainwashing center if she did not give up practicing Falun Dafa. Wang finally did arrest Ms. Zhang with Andingmen Police Station officers on August 27.
Those who have more knowledge about the brainwashing center and the perpetrators are asked to please provide information.
