(Minghui.org) Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Yi Hexi of the Hunan Television Company was illegally arrested by officers from the Changsha City 610 Office and the local neighborhood committee on September 1, 2013. An agent from the 610 Office and about 20 people arrested Ms. Deng Qinghui of the Wuyidong Village Barber Shop in Changsha City on September 2, 2013.
Older Man Arrested
Mr. Yi is 73 years old. He has been imprisoned several times for his belief since the persecution of Falun Gong began in 1999.
Personnel from the 610 Office tricked him into having lunch with them at a hotel in Yuelu District on August 20-21, 2013. While there, he told people about the facts of Falun Gong and urged them to quit the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) and its affiliated organizations. The neighborhood committee then notified him to go to a different hotel for a meeting on August 31. However, Mr. Yi didn't go because he felt uneasy about the meeting.
Mr. Yi was arrested at home on the afternoon of September 1, 2013. Someone calling himself Xiao Yu lied to Mr. Yi's family, saying that they would be back soon. Xiao returned to Mr. Yi's home the next day to get his clothes and refused to tell the family of his whereabouts. Since his arrest, Mr. Yi's family still don't know where he is being held. According to inside sources, Mr. Yi has been refusing to eat in protest of the illegal detention.
Ms. Deng Held at a Brainwashing Center
On the afternoon of September 1, 2013, four people went to Ms. Deng Qinghui’s barber shop to try to arrest her, but she didn't open the door. Later the same day, about 20 people went to her barber shop again, but she still refused to open the door.
The next day, a 610 Office agent and 20 other people forced their way into Ms. Deng's barber shop and took her away. She is now held in the infamous Laodaohe Brainwashing Center in Changsha City.
Ms. Deng was arrested and taken to a detention center in June 2013 only because she distributed informational materials about Falun Dafa. Since then, CCP agents have often gone to her shop to harass her.
