(Minghui.org) I will be 90 years old this year and have practiced Falun Gong for five years. My daughter is 40 years younger than I am, but my skin looks like that of someone even younger than my daughter. I even have some dark colored hair. People tell me that I just keep getting younger and younger.
A former colleague that I had not seen for several years was surprised to see how young I looked. She called her family to tell them. Then she asked me what I ate every day, what food supplements I took, and wondered what I did to take care of myself. I told her that I cultivated according to Falun Dafa.
The son of another colleague saw me and said that I looked like I was in my early 70s. He wanted to know the secret of my longevity. My son told him that there wasn't any secret. I was a Falun Dafa practitioner.
When I was 14, my grandmother took me to Buddhist temples. Whenever I encountered a dangerous situation, I immediately thought about Buddha and the danger seemed to disappear. I now know the reason I was protected was because I was destined to become a practitioner of Falun Dafa.
During the Cultural Revolution I was forced to stand on a narrow bench less than six inches wide for an entire day. People today find that hard to believe. In those days I was quite weak and could have died from the beatings I endured. I didn't even feel any pain. I lived because I was being protected by Buddha.
When I was young, one doctor said that I would not live beyond 30 or be able to have children. A deputy supervisor said, “If you have a child, I will give you 30 eggs.” In the 1960s during the great famine in China, 30 eggs meant a lot.
I had a lot of ailments in my 60s, including lung disease, heart disease, arthritis, and some others.
One practitioner said, “Just you being here is a validation of Dafa.” Other practitioners were surprised that I didn't need glasses to read.
I did have a cataract once. The doctor told me that I had to wait for it to reach a certain thickness before it could be removed. I couldn't see well enough to walk safely down the road.
I had almost lost my eyesight by the time I began cultivation at the age of 84. One day a practitioner gave me a copy of Teacher's portrait to look at. Suddenly, I was able to see the portrait clearly. When I picked up a copy of Zhuan Falun to read, I saw a Falun rotating in front of my eyes. The words on the pages were also clear. At that moment I knew I had found my Teacher.
After practicing Falun Dafa I realized that Teacher had been looking after me since the day I was born.
I have lived to be 90 years old and I also have children. I was blessed with a long life because I have been waiting to become a practitioner of Falun Dafa.
Teacher said:
“The Buddha Fa” is most profound; among all the theories in the world, it is the most intricate and extraordinary science.” (Lunyu from Zhuan Falun)
I am grateful to Teacher for offering me salvation.
