(Minghui.org) Six family members of Falun Gong practitioners Mr. Wang Zhigang, Ms. Bao Wenrong, and Ms. Bao Wenju went to the Aohan County Police Department in Chifeng, Inner Mongolia from Shulan, Jilin Province on January 10, 2013. They went to see the practitioners and request their release, since they had been detained for almost 20 days. The police department dodged them every time, and once held them. The six people were finally forced to go home.
Wang Zhigang, Bao Wenrong, Bao Wenju, Ma Xiaoguang, Wang Xiufeng, Jia Bin, and driver Chen Zhiyong were arrested in Huanghuadianzi Village, Wulan Township, Aohan County, by Gong Chuanxing and about ten plainclothes officers from the Aohan County Police Department on December 21, 2012. The police department despatched several police vehicles and took away a large amount of property.
The practitioners were arrested because they had helped villagers to install satellite dishes. Afterwards, Gong Chuanxing, police, and Chinese Communist Party (CCP) personnel harassed the villagers by going door to door to find out where the satellite dishes had come from. The police and CCP personnel removed the dishes and prevented villagers from watching satellite TV programs.
Wang Zhigang, Bao Wenrong, Bao Wenju, and other practitioners are being detained in the Aohan Detention Center. Mr. Wang Zhigang has been severely tortured. His arm and leg were broken.
Families lied to when requesting the practitioners' release
The practitioners' relatives went to the Aohan County Police Department many times to request the practitioners' release after learning of their arrest but were never successful.
On January 9, 2013, the six family members travelled to the Aohan County Police Department. They arrived at about 8 a.m. on January 10, 2013. After they entered the building, a guard on the first floor asked them who they were looking for. They said, “The Domestic Security Division on the fifth floor.” The guard said, “All the officers are out.” They ignored him and went directly to the fifth floor. A woman whose surname is Wang told them that Gong Chuanxing and three other officers from the domestic security division were not present; they had gone out to search for satellite receivers and would not be back for two or three days.
The relatives asked to visit the practitioners. Wang said she was not authorized to allow that. They asked if the practitioners had been tortured. Wang said no. They asked if there was a videotape and asked to see it. Wang became upset and said loudly, “The video room is on the first floor. You want to watch the video?! We are very nice to them. We even helped Bao Wenrong pull up her pants when she used the toilet.”
The family members felt that was strange and asked: “If you did not torture her, why couldn't Bao Wenrong pull up her pants by herself?” Wang was silent a bit and said, “We handcuffed her. You have been calling me all day long. I have changed my phone number. I cannot out-talk you. I have to get help.” She made two phone calls. Two plainclothes officers came and said, “You cannot visit anyone. Just go home.”
Family members detained
While the families were talking to the two plainclothes officers, Gong Chuanxing came into the office. When he saw them, he shouted, “Aha! So many people. Who are you? Let's see your identification cards. None of you can leave.” He called the Chengqu Police Station in Xinhui Township. Two uniformed officers came and told the relatives that they could not visit the practitioners.
After a while, about ten plainclothes officers in their 20s came. One of them was chief of the Chengqu Police Station. As soon as he came, he told the family members to follow him to the police station. They refused to go. One of Wang Zhigang's relatives was dragged downstairs from the fifth floor and pushed into a police vehicle.
The six family members were taken to the Chengqu Police Station. One of Wang Zhigang's relatives was confined alone in a room because the police wanted to “check his health.” Others were confined in one room. They were called out and questioned one by one. Plainclothes officers took turns watching the family members.
Wang Zhigang's wife was sick before she went to the Aohan County Police Department. When they got there, she had nausea and vomited. Her sister asked the police to find a doctor. They said to wait. By 3 p.m., there was still no doctor.
Then the chief came back. He told them: “You must leave Aohan County tonight. You cannot go to the Aohan County Police Department.” The family members refused to leave because they had not seen the detained practitioners. Wang Zhigang's wife and relatives worried that he was being tortured. When Wang Zhigang's wife arrived at the Aohan County Police Department, she learned that he had been severely tortured; doctors and nurses were called into the detention center twice because his life was at risk. At that time, the Aohan County Police Department first gave the family members a so-called detention warrant. Later, the police department took the warrant back and said it was useless for the family members to hold it.
The relatives insisted on seeing the detained practitioners. The chief said he guaranteed that no torture was used during their interrogation and demanded that they leave.
Why is the CCP afraid of satellite receivers?
Satellite receivers are manufactured with the permission of the state and are available on the market. So it is not against the law to buy a satellite dish. The 40th item of the Constitution stipulates: “The citizens of the People's Republic of China have freedom of communication. Communication secrets are protected by law.” The broadcast and reception of satellite TV programs are also protected by law. Every citizen has the right to know the news. It is fully reasonable and legal that Chinese people install satellite receivers to watch satellite TV programs.
People can watch New Tang Dynasty TV after installing satellite receivers. The programs contain traditional Chinese culture and news not filtered by the CCP. New Tang Dynasty TV dares to speak the truth and report the truth about vulnerable groups and people who have beliefs. The TV station reports on incidents of group struggle and social problems such as corruption, contagious diseases, food safety, and environmental pollution, which the CCP programs do not cover adequately or truthfully.
The CCP is afraid that the great tide of quitting the CCP, the Youth League, and the Young Pioneers will spread throughout China through an independent press. By the end of 2012, 130 million Chinese people had declared their resignations from the three organizations. Since 1999, the CCP has brutally persecuted Falun Gong practitioners who believe in Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance. They have harvested organs from living practitioners to reap exorbitant profits, incurring the indignity of all. This is the real reason that the CCP is so afraid of people installing satellite dishes.
It is legal to practice Falun Gong. It is legal to install satellite dishes. What Falun Gong practitioners do is not against the law. It is definitely legal for people to watch New Tang Dynasty TV programs. The CCP persecutes Falun Gong practitioners and blocks all independent information, which violates the Chinese Constitution. It is the CCP that is committing crimes.
Here we call for the release of all practitioners and the return of all property confiscated.
