(Minghui.org) A recent article exposing the shocking torture of detainees at Masanjia Women’s Forced Labor Camp in Liaoning Province has caused great repercussions in China. The lengthy report included the personal accounts of victims who were brave enough to use their real names. Since its publication in early April, it has been reprinted by many websites and news media.
Desperate to cover up its crimes unveiled in the report, the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) hastily put together a so-called “investigation team” and conducted a purported “on-site inspection" of the labor camp. According to their investigation, none of the torture mentioned in the report ever took place and it was Falun Gong practitioners that fabricated the report in the first place.
How much sense does it make for outlaws to investigate their own crimes? Sans an independent third party’s involvement, any so-called investigation by the CCP of its own atrocities only makes people see more clearly how ridiculous it truly is.
The Biased Investigation Team
This CCP "investigation team" included personnel from relevant departments in Liaoning Province, journalists from state- and province-owned media, and representatives from the People’s Congress and the National Committee of the Chinese People’s Consultative Conference.
It is clear the investigation team and the labor camp, both part and parcel of the regime, are all cut from the same cloth. What kind of results can people expect when the investigator is an ardent supporter of the one being investigated?
The Contrived “Objective, Open and Impartial” Investigation
This investigation team claimed to have conducted an “objective, open, and impartial” investigation.
Which part of this investigation was objective? How could it be objective when the accused arranged for their accomplices to investigate them? Why didn’t the regime invite a third party to conduct an independent investigation? Why didn’t it allow Minghui journalists to visit mainland China to gather evidence?
Where was the openness? Without outside monitoring and involvement, everything was simply fabricated by the accused and their accomplices working behind closed doors.
How was it “impartial?" The investigation team and the labor camp provided protective cover for each other. The wrongdoers and their investigators are one and the same.
According to the "investigation team," 73 volumes of archives were reviewed, 116 guards were investigated, 55 current detainees were interviewed, and 14 recently released detainees were visited. They gathered 663 testimonies, images, and audio recordings.
None of the above figures are credible. The guards were the CCP henchmen and the detainees were the hostages. Even the recently released prisoners worry about being arrested again. How could any of these “witnesses” dare to speak any truth? Even if a few had the guts to expose the crime, you’d be naïve to think any CCP mouthpiece media would publish it.
The Terrified CCP
According to the Minghui article (http://en.minghui.org/html/articles/2013/4/8/138822.html):
“While the report was unprecedented in terms of admitting such horrific conditions in the Masanjia Forced Labor Camp, it conspicuously neglected to mention that those who were most badly beaten, tortured and brutally mistreated there since mid-1999 were mostly Falun Gong practitioners.”
“Since the year 2000, Minghui has published 8,109 reports of various kinds documenting and discussing the persecution experiences of Falun Gong practitioners who have been illegally detained in the Masanjia labor camp alone. (Note: this total was generated by a search of the Minghui website, and therefore includes both original reports as well as commentaries and periodicals that repeat the content of original reports.)”
“The brunt of the persecution that has been dished out at Masanjia (and numerous other labor camps throughout China) has most certainly been borne by Falun Gong practitioners, at least since the official campaign to crush Falun Gong launched in July 1999.”
Even without the mention of Falun Gong, this report still manages to freak out the CCP. The regime is terrified that its torture of innocent people, especially Falun Gong practitioners, is being widely reported worldwide.
This “investigation” farce airs the CCP dirty laundry to the world.
Thanks to practitioners’ unwavering truth-clarification efforts, more and more people have come to see the unscrupulous nature of the CCP, which is in sharp contrast to the compassion of practitioners.
As more and more CCP crimes are made public, those that follow the regime to do evil, including its official writers, will be punished and brought to justice.
