(Minghui.org) Mr. Qian Fajun is a Falun Gong practitioner from Junan County, Shandong Province. He was subjected to long-term force-feeding in the No. 2 Men's Forced Labor Camp in Shandong Province. He was in critical condition and taken for emergency treatment. An unknown drug was injected into his right foot causing a severe infection. Soon after his release in January 2012, he started suffering the effects of the drug. He was unable to walk or use his arms and couldn't take care of himself. He could not even get out of bed by himself.
The following is an account of the persecution suffered by Mr. Qian in the forced labor camp.
On September 23, 2011, Mr. Qian was arrested by personnel from the local 610 Office, and taken to the Linyi Brainwashing Center, where he was severely beaten and force-fed by Su Wei and Chen Jun. This torture rendered him unable to walk.

Still Taken to Forced Labor Camp Despite Failing the Physical Exam
Mr. Qian went on a hunger strike for 35 days in the Linyi Brainwashing Center to protest the persecution. He was taken to the No. 2 Men's Forced Labor Camp in Shandong Province on October 28, 2011 by Ma Zongtao from the Lingang District 610 Office in Linyi, an unidentified person from the Lingang District; Peng Xuezhong, the Zhuanggang Police Station director; officer Li Hongsen; and a driver (last name Ji), who works for the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) council at the Zhuanggang Police Station. Basan Hospital staff examined Mr. Qian and concluded that his health was too poor for the labor camp to admit him. However, Ma Zhongtao and the other four took Mr. Qian to the labor camp anyway. Officer Wang Xinjiang ordered prisoners to take him to a storage room in Group No. 7. This was the third time that Mr. Qian was detained in this labor camp.
Torture reenactment: Brutal force-feeding
Police officers from Group No. 7 arranged for inmates Yu Xinhai and Zhou Fuzhan, as well as someone from Mr. Qian's hometown, to attempt to persuade him to give up his hunger strike. After several days however, he continued his hunger strike to protest the persecution. The guards then spent more than 150 yuan that belonged to Mr. Qian to buy soy milk powder for force-feeding.
The guards carried Mr. Qian on a stretcher to the labor camp health office, then had him force-fed by the residing physician (police ID 3731060). After several days, the guards felt that it was too much trouble to carry him up and down the stairs, so they negotiated with the physician and decided to have prisoner Zhou Fuzhan do the force-feeding. Zhou Fuzhan then force-fed him for over ten days. After each session, the force-feeding tube was left in. One time, part of the tube came partially out, but Zhou Fuzhan continued the force-feeding, causing Mr. Qian to choke.
Zhou Fuzhan and Yu Xinhai reported this incident to instructor Wang Baohua. At night, Wang Baohua had Mr. Qian taken on a stretcher to the health office so that Dr. Xu Tao (police ID 3731093) could continue the force-feeding. Following this session, he was taken back to the storage cell, where Zhou Fuzhan then continued force-feeding him with a tube inserted in Mr. Qian's nose. The tube was not removed. He was force-fed through his nose – an extremely painful process - for over a month. His stomach was so irritated, that he had to lie on it to manage the pain.
After a month in the forced labor camp, one of Mr. Qian's sisters came to deliver clothes to him. Since he couldn't walk or take care of himself due to the torture, the guards had to arrange for his sister to see him in the captain's office on the seventh floor. Before his sister arrived at the office, the captain of Group No. 7 covered up their criminal acts. They ordered Zhou Fuzhan to wash Mr. Qian's face, dress him, then carry and place him on the couch in the office. His sister left 200 yuan for him in the care of officer Wang Xinjiang. Officer Song Nan immediately spent all the money for soy milk powder and continued force-feeding Mr. Qian.
Qian Fajun's stomach became increasingly irritated, and he was unable to sleep for several nights. One night, he was in so much pain that he was able to pull out the tube. A couple of days later, guards carried him to the health office, where they continued the force-feeding. After he was returned to his cell, he pulled the tube out to reduce the pain. However, that afternoon, the guards carried him back for more force-feeding. Force-feeding has became a common method used by guards to torture Falun Gong practitioners.
Forced Labor Camp Physician Tortured Qian Fajun with Multiple Daily Force-feeding Sessions
One day, Dr. Zhang (police ID 3731063) was on duty. He had previously pulled out Mr. Qian's teeth with pliers, then force-fed him through a tube. Whenever he was on duty, this sadistic physician always tortured Mr. Qian. After Mr. Qian first pulled out the tube, the doctor used a thicker, more rigid tube to force-feed him. The tube was as wide as a nostril. Even prisoners knew that he was purposely torturing Mr. Qian. Soon after being force-fed with this type of tube, Mr. Qian started to vomit soy milk powder with blood. He always vomited after a force-feeding session, losing all the food including some bile. The brutal torture caused a long-term ringing sensation in his ears.
During one force-feeding, another physician (police ID 3731060) ignored his critical condition and tried inserting the tube over ten times unsuccessfully. Doctor Zhang typically inserted the tube twice. After witnessing the force-feeding by Dr. Zhang again, prisoner Zhou Fuzhan told other inmates “Today, Qian had the tube inserted 15 or 16 times.” Every time Dr. Zhang was on duty for force-feeding, he always tortured Mr. Qian by pulling the tube in and out. One time in 2003, Mr. Qian exposed Dr. Zhang's criminal torture in front of others. Dr. Zhang was so angry that he struck Mr. Qian's nose with the tube. The prisoners witnessing the scene told others, “This isn't force-feeding. He was hitting and punching Qian's nose with the tube.” Dr. Zhang caused Mr. Qian to lose consciousness twice during the tube insertion.
Guards ordered inmates to carry Mr. Qian to the health office for force-feeding daily. Every time after the tube was removed, Mr. Qian shouted, “Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is good! Falun Dafa is good! Falun Dafa is a righteous teaching!” One time, guard Wang Xinjian ordered Zhou Fuzhan to shout slogans slandering Falun Dafa while Qian Fajun shouted. Later, Mr. Qian clarified the truth to him, and Zhou Fuzhan stopped doing this. Another time, prisoner Yu Xinhai tried to please the guards by shouting slogans slandering Falun Dafa. Mr. Qian Fajun stopped him with righteous thoughts and actions. Later, Yu Xinhai even refused to carry Mr. Qian to the force-feeding sessions. Mr. Qian ended up in critical condition after so much torture.
The guards also took Mr. Qian to the Zhangqiu Chinese Hospital seven or eight times. However, he was not examined. The hospital staff drew his blood, then sold it. Drawing his blood was quite painful, since he was already emaciated. Finally, the doctor told the police, “This man doesn't even have enough blood for a test.” This was a definite indication of Mr. Qian's critical condition. During the last two hospital visits, Mr. Qian shouted, “It is not a crime to practice Falun Gong! Falun Dafa is good! Falun Dafa is a righteous teaching! This persecution caused my physical problems.” He shouted this wherever the police took him, drawing sympathy from many people who witnessed these acts.
Tortured with Forced Drug Administration, Unable to Care for Himself
Mr. Qian's older sister traveled several hundred miles by bus to the forced labor camp to visit him on December 28. The guards attempted to deny her right to visit. Mr. Qian's sister explained, “One of the policewomen there told me to come visit my brother, who is on a hunger strike.” The guards then had to allow his sister to meet with him on the second floor of Group No. 7. Before her arrival, the police called Group No. 7 to prepare him for the visit. Guards from Group No. 7 dressed him with pants and shoes, then carried him to the couch in the office. They covered his legs with a comforter. His sister arrived, accompanied by guards. She immediately observed that he was extremely emaciated, could barely lift his head, and sounded very weak. She asked instructor Wang Baohua to release him so that she could take him home. She asserted that the police were responsible for his critical condition.
Wang Baohua was also concerned about being held responsible, so he pretended to call his supervisor. He faked a conversation, “Mr. Liang (Liang Yunlong), shall we release him?” He then claimed that “Mr. Liang” had refused. Mr. Qian's sister left in tears and took a bus home.
Mr. Qian was dying at that time. He vomited after every force-feeding, but kept trying to pull out the tube. He convulsed frequently and fell out of his bed from time to time. He sometimes lost control and wet his bed. Finally, even prisoners in the same cell realized that he was dying. They were worried that their terms would be extended if he died in their cell block, so they reported this to the workshop captains. Once, captain Li responded, “What are you worried about? If he dies, we'll just throw him outside.” The guards just continued to force-feed him, but even a prison doctor (police ID 3731085) stated that Wang Xinjiang and Group No. 7 were wasting their time.
The forced labor camp officials finally sent Mr. Qian, who was still in critical condition, to Basan Hospital for so-called “emergency treatment,” where he was instead injected with an unknown drug. Several days later, Mr. Qian was able to talk, but prisoner Zhou Fuzhan, who had been monitoring him, told the guards that Mr. Qian's voice had changed.
On the morning of January 14, 2012, Ma Zhongtao (head of the 610 Office in the Lingang District), Xu Hengjie (Zhuanggang township official), an unidentified man, and Mr. Qian's older sister went to Basan Hospital. They carried Mr. Qian to a van covered by a comforter, then took him home.
After arriving at Nanbei Street to the east of Mr. Qian's home, Ma Zhongtai and a Mr. Wang ordered Mr. Qian's sister to carry him the rest of the way home by herself. The officials did not help, and just sat in the van watching her carry him home. One of his neighbors saw her and came to help her carry him.
The forced drug administration was deliberately planned by Liang Yunlong (assistant director of the labor camp) and Ma Zhongtai (head of the 610 Office in Lingang District). Even Mr. Qian's sister recognized that something was fishy. In 2003, the police required her to sign documents when she went to the Wangcun Men's Forced Labor Camp to take Mr. Qian home. This time, the labor camp officials didn't ask her to sign anything. They were eager to get rid of him before he died.
Mr. Qian has been in poor physical health since his return home. He couldn't walk for a long time, and later had to use canes, but still couldn't walk properly. He is in pain at night while trying to sleep. Due to the administration of unknown drugs in Basan Hospital, his right foot became severely infected. He is now unable to move on his own or take care of himself.
