(Minghui.org) Editors’ Note: In both Western and Chinese culture, the principle of karmic retribution, that is, being held ultimately accountable for one's own actions, is widely accepted. The fundamental teaching of Falun Gong is based on the characteristic of the universe, "Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance." The universe will reward actions that are in harmony with this principle, while actions opposing this principle will incur karmic retribution. Stated another way, good deeds will be rewarded with good, while evildoings will meet due retribution. Articles such as this one are meant as a compassionate reminder of this principle to those who would commit wrongdoing.
Zhang Guang of Dandong City, Liaoning, was in his 30s. In 2008, while working in the Chinese Embassy in Washington as a construction worker, he used physical violence against Falun Gong practitioners who were peacefully clarifying the facts about the persecution to passersby outside the embassy.
After he returned to China, Zhang Guang bragged about his “heroic” act in the U.S. When a practitioner tried to clarify the facts about Falun Gong and explain the universal principle of “good begets good, evil begets evil” to him, he laughed and said, “Only a fool believes in retribution.”
In August 2012, while working at a construction site, Zhang Guang fell from a tall building and died.
