(Minghui.org) There is an old Chinese expression: “Lifting a rock only to drop it on one's toes”, which is often used as a metaphor to indicate that one suffers from his/her own wrong actions. We witness this cause and effect relationship so often in life, yet often dare not face up to it. Some believe, without reason, that the retribution they encounter has nothing to do with the bad deeds they've committed. However, after taking into account one's entire life, or from a practitioner's perspective and understanding of causality, everything that happens has a cause and an effect. Let's take a look at some examples.
Policeman Boasts about Arresting Many Practitioners, Later Injured by Falling Rock
Practitioner Ms. Zhang Yulan, a history teacher at the No. 63 Middle School in Nankai District, Tianjin, was illegally arrested by Xiangyanglu Police Station officers. She was being tortured on an iron chair, while an officer bragged about the number of Falun Gong practitioners he'd arrested, sentenced and sent to labor camps - as if he'd rendered the community an outstanding service of some kind.
Five days later, as it was getting dark, the same officer walked with a limp towards Ms. Zhang and said, “I had such bad luck! I stepped out the door, and a rock fell from the roof and hit me right on the foot.” He showed his right foot to Ms. Zhang, who didn't say anything or even look at him.
The officer stood there looking at Ms. Zhang for a while, then asked, “Could it be that we made a mistake arresting you people?”
“Of course,” Ms Zhang said, “Lifting a rock only to drop it on one's own toes. Buddha Sakyamuni once said that one would receive boundless virtue just by offering a bite of food to a cultivator. Yet you have arrested so many good people who cultivate 'Truthfulness, Compassion and Forbearance' and sent them to prisons and forced labor camps. What do you think you deserve in return?”
Rock Strikes a Group of Police while Driving
Officer Xi Min from Nanqiang Town Police Station in Suining, Sichuan Province, was very cruel towards Falun Gong practitioners. Around midday of July 24, 2000, he verbally abused a practitioner who was protesting the persecution by going on a hunger strike, shouting, “Starve to death. Serves you right!”
A month later, a group of officers from Nanqiang Police Station and the local municipality went on a pleasure trip paid by money they'd extorted from Falun Gong practitioners. They claimed it was a training trip.
Three years later, they were driving on a road near Ganzi one August day, when a rock hurtled down from a hill, crashing through the car window and hitting Xi Min's head. He was knocked unconscious and taken to a hospital for emergency treatment. He died two days later.
Entire Family Suffers from the Evil Act of One Member
Rong Changke was Team Leader of the prison in Xingqiaowan, Wanjia Township of Songzi District, Hubei Province for over twelve years. He often went to harass and monitor local Falun Gong practitioners, and was verbally abusive of practitioners at team meetings. On December 27, 2003 his entire family of six was traveling in a chartered van. As they were about to enter a tunnel at Xiangfan, a rock fell towards them from the hillside. In order to avoid the rock, the van swerved and fell into a 70 meter-deep reservoir. No one survived.
Rock Strikes Villager who Claimed False Evidence Against Practitioners
A stonemason in his sixties named Zhao Quanxian was from Peige Village, Xinji Town, Changli County, Qinhuangdao, Hebei Province. For years he held a hostile attitude against Falun Dafa and came up with false evidence to slander practitioners, claiming, “Falun Gong practitioners were responsible for all the fire accidents in the village.” In early May 2009, Zhao was splitting a piece of stone in a quarry in Xiaolu Village, when the stone fell and severely injured his foot Zhao was taken to a hospital where his foot was amputated.
Was this an accident? We think not. When Falun Gong was slandered and accused falsely by the Chinese Communist regime, Zhao was an accomplice and fabricated lies to slander the peaceful practice. Isn't there a saying in the Western world that what goes around, comes around?
Informer Crushed to Death
Chen Qiangqiang, born in 1968, was a resident of Liangjiagou Village in Xibaipo Town, Pingshan County, Hebei Province, was a mean person whose only goal was to make money. He and his friends jointly ran a marble processing factory and lived quite comfortably.
He saw practitioners Feng Jiancheng and Han Sanmei (a couple from Luojiahui Village) distributing truth clarification materials on the evening of March 25, 2004, then reported them to the local police station. The three practitioners were arrested, then transferred to Pingshan County Police Department the next day and later sentenced to three years of forced labor.
For his “meritorious service”, Chen Qiangqiang was offered a reward of 500 yuan (about $80 USD) by the CCP regime. Chen was unloading stone on June 26 , when he was crushed by a large rock, killing him instantly. He was 42 years old.
Chen loved money as much as life itself. He never distinguished good from bad, and did many disgraceful things as a secret informer. His misfortune was indeed no accident.
Falun Gong practitioners do not enjoy watching people suffering from retribution. Exposing such cases serves as a warning to those who can't distinguish between good and bad due to the brainwashing by the CCP. We hope that people become more aware, and capable of differentiating good and bad, and not “lift a rock only to drop it on one's own toes”.
