The Chinese Communist Party (CCP) can no longer continue with its forced labor camp system. As a result, labor camps all over the country have either been closed or are being closed, and the practitioners held there released. However, Ms. Li Shanshan and Ms. Chen Xiumei are still being held at the Hebei Province Women's Forced Labor Camp. Ms. Li Mei could be there as well.
Mr. Zhou Xiangyang, has been sentenced by the CCP, and is being subjected to cruel torture. Ms. Li Shanshan, tried to rescue her husband (Mr. Zhou Xiangyang) on October 29, 2011. She was arrested and sent to a labor camp for detention. At the Camp, she was forced to do hard labor.
On the morning of September 11, 2012, Ms. Chen Xiumei, a practitioner from Baoding City, 55 years of age, went to the police station to demand the return of her house key, which was confiscated by the police officers. The police ended up arresting her and detaining her at the Shijiazhuang Women's Forced Labor Camp for further persecution. This was the fourth time she was held at a forced labor camp. At the Camp, guards tried to force Ms. Chen to squat down to report her prisoner number, but she would not cooperate with them. The guards then slapped her face, kicked her and dragged her into a small room where they beat her further. To resist the persecution, Ms. Chen had been on a hunger strike to protest.
On February 24, 2012, Ms. Li Mei from Handan City, Hebei Province was arrested by police officers and then sentenced to 18 months in a forced labor camp.
