(Minghui.org) Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Wu Baogui left home to avoid being persecuted. The Guta District Court is responsible for the arrest of Mr. Wu's 34-year-old son, Mr. Wu Bo, on November 22, 2013, because he had guaranteed that his father would return to the court, but his father did not return.
Mr. Wu and Ms. Liu Arrested
Police from the Anti-cult Section of the Jinzhou City Police Department arrested Mr. Wu on the afternoon of September 25, 2012, when he and his wife were picking up their granddaughter at school. His home was ransacked, and his laptop computer, flash drive, and pictures of Master Li Hongzhi were confiscated.
The police had been monitoring him for months and followed him to the home of practitioner Ms. Liu Li.
Ms. Liu was arrested on September 27, 2012. The police confiscated her desktop and laptop computers, printer, DVD writer, DVDs, brochures, and so on. After she was detained for a period of time in the Jinzhou City Detention Center, she displayed diabetes symptoms. She had blurry eyesight, she was swollen, and she had other difficulties. She was approved to be released on bail.
Mr. Wu's family got a phone call from officer Qin from the Jinzhou Police Department at around 4:30 p.m. on October 26, 2012, saying that the arrest of Mr. Wu was approved and the case had already been submitted to the Jinzhou City Procuratorate. Qin told Mr. Wu's family to go to the police department to sign documents for the arrest approval, but the family refused to go, even though the police kept calling.
The Guta District Procuratorate returned Mr. Wu's case to the Jinzhou Police mid-January 2013, but the police refused to release him.
First Trial
The Guta District Court tried Mr. Wu Baogui and Ms. Liu Li on April 20, 2013.
Mr. Wu was diagnosed with a 5-cm cyst on the left side of his brain and the right side of his body was paralyzed by July 2, 2013. He was released on bail.
Second Trial
The Guta District Court informed both practitioners on September 28, 2013, that they would be tried the next day. Mr. Wu did not appear in court. Three policemen from the Guta District Court went to Mr. Wu's hometown of Huludao City on October 8 to announce the verdict to him and get his signature. Mr. Wu escaped and is now homeless. This prompted court officials to order the arrest of his son, Mr. Wu Bo, the following month.
The Guta District Court notified Ms. Liu's family on November 21, 2013, that her case had been sent to the Intermediate People's Court in Jinzhou City. The Intermediate People's Court sent her to the Liaoning Province Women's Prison. They claimed that if the prison refused to accept her, they would detain her in Jinzhou City.
