(Minghui.org) Ms. Liu Xiurong, 63, was illegally arrested for posting stickers that said “Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance Is Good” on August 23, 2013, and has been held in the Hexi Detention Center in Tongliao City, Inner Mongolia, ever since.
The district procuratorate has now returned Ms. Liu's case twice due to the loopholes in the fabricated charges made by the Domestic Security Division.
Authorities Obstruct Ms. Liu's Attorney
On January 16, 2014, Ms. Liu's attorney Liang Xiaojun and Ms. Liu's daughter Tian Xin went to the Khorchin District Procuratorate to review her files. Wang Xinxin, who was in charge of her case, said, “You can't review it. It was returned to the Domestic Security Division.”
Her attorney commented, “My client is pretty old. And nothing serious happened, just a few books and one poster. Can't you drop the charge?” Wang said it was impossible.
The attorney said he had dealt with a lot of Falun Gong cases, and many of them were withdrawn. Wang boasted, “It is impossible to drop charges in Tongliao City.”
When the attorney and Ms. Tian Xin were about to leave, Wang asked, “Was your client divorced?” Ms. Tian replied, “My father was persecuted to death in prison. He was arrested in 2008 and persecuted to death in a year and a half.”
Wang interrupted her, saying, “Don't tell me about that.” Wang then asked the attorney if he practiced Falun Gong, too. He replied that his personal beliefs were not relevant to the case.
The attorney advised Wang Xinxin, “I hope you will handle this case in all good conscience.”
Entire Family Persecuted
In the past, Ms. Liu's husband, Mr. Tian Fujin, was the former section chief and deputy director of Tongliao City Leather Factory. All her family members practiced Falun Gong. Before the persecution, her husband was very good at his business and honest in his dealings. His business boomed.
However, the family became penniless as a result of the persecution. Mr. Tian was persecuted to death in December, 2009. The eldest daughter, Tian Fang, was sentenced twice for a total of 9 years in prison. The second daughter, Tian Xin, was taken to forced labor twice; the third daughter, Tian Miao, was sentenced to 6 years in prison; and the son, Tian Shuanjiang, was sentenced to 3 years in prison.
Ms. Liu was persecuted in a forced labor camp for two years and was sentenced to 4 years in prison. The family home was ransacked, and they were harassed by police countless times.
