(Minghui.org) The Chinese Communist 610 Office sent an experienced “support team” to Heilongjiang Women's Prison in early July 2012 to begin an intensified effort attempting to “transform” Falun Gong practitioners. Some of the team members were recognized by practitioners as officers who had tortured practitioners in other prisons. This group stayed at the Heilongjiang Women's Prison for a month.
The prison authorities chose one practitioner known to be firm in her belief from each of the eight prison districts and sent them to Prison Districts 9 and 11. They planned to use brainwashing tactics and torture to make them renounce Falun Gong.
Ms. Qi Yaru from Harbin City was forced to sit on a small stool every day. The stool was 6 inches high, 6 inches wide, and about 8 inches long. She was forced to keep her feet and whole body within an area of about 20 inches. Ms. Qi was deprived of sleep 24 hours a day and only allowed to use the bathroom at mealtimes. If she closed her eyes or moved in any way, police ordered the supervising prisoners to use profane language, or kick and hit her with a book.
Torture re-enactment: Sitting on a small stool for a long time
Ms. Qi's buttocks developed festering sores from sitting in this position for a long time. Her legs were injured from being kicked and her face was swollen from beatings. She asked Cao and other persecutors from Jilin Prison, “Are you persecuting me by depriving me of sleep for 24 hours? Can such forcible persecution change a practitioner's heart?”
Cao said, “We were ordered in no uncertain terms to put aside everything else and come here and we do not even have leave privileges.”
Ms. Li Wenjun, who is elderly, has been arrested and held in labor camps six to seven times since the persecution began in 1999. She refused to sit on the small stool, so police tied her between top and bottom levels of a bunk bed for six to seven days. They deprived her of sleep and they would not allow her to use the bathroom, causing her to soil her pants.
Ms. Sun Fenghua from Daqing was sentenced to 14 years in prison. She developed ovarian tumors and could not eat. She often fell when she went to the toilet. She was forced to sit on a small stool and deprived of sleep for more than 20 days. She could not stand up and would often fall. The prisoners who monitored her, Du Xiaoxia and Jiang Mingqiu, forced her to transcribe statements renouncing Falun Gong.
The prison once sent Ms. Sun for surgery on her tumors and treatment for tuberculosis. The anesthetic did not have an effect, but they did the surgery anyway. After about seven days, she returned to the prison and was forced to do slave labor.
Ms. Sun has now been in prison for ten years and several months. She has developed tumors and other illness symptoms. She has been in the prison hospital district for more than six months and her situation is of great concern.
Heilongjiang Women's Prison currently detains around 300 Falun Gong practitioners. They are forced to do slave labor all day and regularly write “thought reports.”
It is not against the law to believe in Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance, but it is against the law to persecute innocent people. Please lend your righteous support to stop this atrocity, to thoroughly investigate the CCP's criminal acts in persecuting Falun Gong practitioners, and to bring these criminals to justice.
