(Minghui.org) I started practicing Falun Dafa in 1997. I faced many tribulations and sometimes did not do well in cultivation, but have remained very determined in following Master, thanks to Master's compassionate protection.
Master said in Zhuan Falun ,
“This Fa can only be taught to this level. It is up to your own cultivation to attain what is at high levels.”
“You must practice cultivation and become enlightened on your own. If I tell you everything, nothing will remain for you to cultivate.”
So I have realized that Master purposely did not mention specific examples, so that we may enlighten and improve.
Today's people sit in various postures. Though Master didn't talk about how we should sit when we study the Fa, Master said in Zhuan Falun ,
“At that time, when students went to school, they practiced sitting in meditation and emphasized good posture. When they picked up their brush-pens, they would regulate their breathing and qi. All professions believed in emptying the mind and regulating the breathing, as this was the state throughout society.”
Fellow practitioners and I have enlightened to the understanding that when we study the Fa, we should do even better than those ancient students. When we study the Fa either by ourselves or in groups, I believe that we should sit in full lotus and hold the books in front of our chests. We should try to sit in full lotus position as long as we can. We should wash our hands and calm our minds before Fa study, and should not eat or drink while studying, while maintaining full respect for and gratitude towards Master.
When we have the right posture while studying the Fa, we are more focused and able to overcome sleepiness and reduce or eliminate interference. With Master's strengthening, our hearts become purer and we are truly able to study the Fa and obtain the Fa.
So let's encourage each other and start from the most basic point–studying the Fa well and fulfilling our sacred vows of, “helping Master rectify the Fa and save sentient beings.”
Please point out anything inappropriate.
