(Minghui.org) Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Miao Huixia was arrested on September 22, 2013 for distributing Falun Gong informational materials. It's been six months and she is still being detained in the Qingcheng County Detention Center. This is her third arrest since she began practicing Falun Gong. Her family has been torn apart as a result of years of persecution.

Arrested for Distributing Falun Gong Materials
Ms. Miao and another practitioner, Mr. Wang Mingquan, were giving out Falun Gong fliers in Lujiawan Township on September 22, 2013, when officers from the Maojing Police Station, including director Xu, Zhao, Yang, and Chen, arrested them. Mr. Wang was detained for 15 days. Ms. Miao was taken to the Qingcheng County Detention Center and has not been released.
Prior Persecution of Ms. Miao and Her Family
Ms. Miao is from Huan County, Qingyang City, Gansu Province. She and her husband, Mr. Kou Ping, used to have good jobs and a happy family. After the persecution began, both Ms. Miao and her husband were arrested many times and eventually lost their jobs. To make a living, they opened a photo gallery and purchased equipment including cameras, video recorder, computers, printers, and DVD burners. The police later ransacked their shop and confiscated all of their equipment.
Mr. Kou was twice arrested and illegally sentenced to prison. He is now being held in the Tianshui Prison in Gansu Province.
Mr. Kou's elderly mother couldn't stand the frequent harassment by the authorities and the sudden losses. She passed away under the terrible strain. Ms. Miao and Mr. Kou's son has had to go live with other relatives.
