(Minghui.org) Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Cheng Lijing went to Nongan Detention Center to visit detained practitioners Ms. Sun Yanxia and Ms. Fu Guihua on June 5, 2013, and was illegally arrested and held at the Wugongli Detention Center for 15 days, during which time she was tortured and humiliated.
Practitioners Ms. Sun Yanxia and Ms. Fu Guihua were arrested on June 3, 2013. They have been in custody for nine months to date. They are now imprisoned at the Changchun No. 3 Detention Center. Both are quite ill as a result of being tortured in the prison.
Ms. Cheng Lijing related her experience of the persecution in her own words.
I went to the Nongan Detention Center on June 5, 2013 to visit Ms. Sun Yanxia and Ms. Fu Guihua, along with their family members, a total of nine people. We arrived at around 10:00 a.m., and I waited in the car. Shortly after, around two dozen police officers appeared and surrounded the car. The officers were from the Gucheng Police Station, with Tang Ke, head of the Nongan County Domestic Security Division, in charge. I was pushed into a police car. Ren Nan, an officer from the Gucheng Police Station, started up the car and began swearing at me.
Held at Gucheng Police Station
I was detained at the Gucheng Police Station until 3:00 p.m. the following day, a total of 30 hours. During this time I was given no food or water, was not allowed to use the toilet, and was deprived of sleep.
At Gucheng Police Station, Tang Ke ordered officers to handcuff my hands behind my back. Approximately eight officers pushed me to the ground and twisted my arms. I broke out in a cold sweat from the pain and fainted. My right wrist and arm are still in pain.
I was interrogated, during which time police officers pricked my fingers and ears to get blood samples. They also lifted me by my handcuffs so that my arms were raised to head level from behind my back. I was twice tortured in this manner.
I was subsequently taken to the dining room, where officers took turns slapping my face, then I was forced to sit next to a window and cold water was poured over me. A fan was turned on, blowing cold air at me until I was shivering uncontrollably.
An officer in his twenties stepped on my legs, and I nearly fainted from the pain. He and Wang Meng slapped me. They were relieved by other officers who continued hitting me.
That night, I was locked into a cell with four practitioners who had been arrested at the same time. My right hand was handcuffed to a bench throughout the night.
Transferred to Wuchengli Detention Center
I was tortured again on the morning of June 6. A male officer pricked me about seven times with a needle. Although there were no obvious injuries, it was very painful.
I was then taken to the dining room, drenched with cold water, and an electric fan was switched on to blow cold air at me. My menstrual period began, and I was not allowed to use sanitary pads.
Officers made me sit on the ground first, then forced me to squat. I was then made to lie on the ground. Two male officers kept slapping me non-stop. They even took off their shoes and hit my face with them.
They removed my jacket, and ripped my T-shirt into pieces. My skin was exposed in many areas. An elderly cleaning man cleaned the blood on the ground from my period.
Clothing torn into pieces at Wugongli Detention Center
I was photographed before being transferred to the detention center. The photos included a front view as well as views of the left and right side of my face. Tang Ke and officers from the Changchun 610 Office interrogated me, but I refused to answer their questions.
I was transferred to the Wuchengli Detention Center after 3:00 p.m. on June 6. At that time, officers did not know my name. Lu Mingxuan, Zhou Dahai and another officer from the Domestic Security Division later came to the detention center three times to threaten me.
When Lu Mingxuan learned my name during interrogation, he said, “I wanted to arrest you earlier and failed to do so.” He and Zhou Dahai then tortured me. I was released after 15 days of detention.
At home, my arms still experience pain when doing household chores for a while, and I have to stop what I'm doing. It takes a lot of effort to lift even half a pail of water. Even now, my right wrist and arm hurts from time to time. I cannot lead a normal life, and this has traumatized me and my family.”
