(Minghui.org) Minghui is an important website for Falun Dafa practitioners, because it provides information related to Fa-rectification period cultivation. Many of us have benefited a lot from it.
Because of human notions, some practitioners have not considered this from the perspective of cultivation. They think that the content of Minghui is more or less the same from day to day. Plus, most of the articles are written by practitioners, and, since they are practitioners themselves and already know about cultivation, they read other websites instead of Minghui.
I think this is not right. In fact, such practitioners may not truly understand what genuine cultivation practice is.
And they do need to read Minghui more.
Minghui and Cultivation
Master has mentioned Minghui a few times in Fa lectures, and it has been demonstrated to be a website we practitioners can trust. Minghui is helpful for our cultivation and is a place where everyday people can learn the facts about Dafa.
Practitioners involved in the publication of the content on Minghui put a lot of effort into it. They review and organize articles daily. In addition, they have to compile truth-clarification materials and the Minghui Weekly and organize experience-sharing articles. It is an enormous effort.
To help practitioners prepare and organize truth-clarification materials, Minghui composes and regularly updates brochures and booklets. We can see that the practitioners involved in this project are very dedicated. In fact, some of them have sacrificed their careers to devote their time to Minghui work for more than 10 years. It is a very selfless endeavor.
Master said,
“That’s particularly true for Minghui, which in its brief years of operation has already established mighty virtue. Dafa disciples realize this, and Master is very much aware; even the world’s people admire it, and even the evil ones do. In this final phase you should do even better with it, and make it more powerful. You cannot let up.” (“Fa Teaching Given at the Fa Conference Marking the Tenth Anniversary of Minghui’s Founding” from Teaching the Fa at the Conference X)
Minghui as a Teaching Tool
When I returned home after having gone into hiding to escape being persecuted, I had lost contact with other practitioners. Then I ran into a practitioner who handed me a copy of the Minghui Weekly. It was the first time I had ever seen Minghui Weekly, and I was moved to tears. With that practitioner's help, I could access Minghui. Seeing Master's photo on Minghui, I felt happy and a sense of security.
Reading Minghui regularly has now become routine for me. I've learned to cultivate and look within. By looking even superficially at anything that happens, I can identify the root cause of an incident. And other practitioners' sharing is of great value to me.
Master said,
“Even though Minghui doesn’t visibly influence society as much as other media entities might, and it might not have much content that’s of interest to ordinary people, it nevertheless portrays the cultivation state of Dafa disciples without filtering and reports about the persecution that they are subjected to. So it is pivotal and important. In a sense, the other media outlets don’t have the ability to do that right now. If one of the other media outlets were to cease to exist, there would be others to do its job. But if Minghui were not around, no other media outlet could replace it. That’s why I say that not only does Minghui have to continue, but it has to be run well.” (“Fa Teaching Given at the Fa Conference Marking the Tenth Anniversary of Minghui’s Founding” from Teaching the Fa at the Conference X)
Submitting Articles
I've submitted articles to Minghui from time to time. Some were published and some were not. I think this is understandable. Some practitioners have negative feelings about Minghui because their submissions were not published. This should be an opportunity to look within, to discern if our purpose and motivation are pure: “Am I doing this to validate myself? Do I have a show-off mentality?”
Master said,
“I said it a moment ago: Minghui is very important. The first-hand information that it gets from China is definitely reliable, and no other website approaches things from the same angle—that is, as a window into Dafa disciples’ cultivation. Then as Dafa disciples, you must have a positive view of Minghui, regardless of whatever ordinary people may think. There are some who don’t see Minghui in a positive light, and I would say they’ve got a problem. At least that much is certain. Since Minghui directly reports on the cultivation state of the main body of Dafa disciples, it plays the pivotal role of facilitating the exchange of experiences among Dafa disciples around the world, and that is something no other media outlet can do. Nor can they report from Minghui’s angle. So that is what sets Minghui apart. Of course, it’s inevitable that there will be shortcomings. But, as you cultivate and mature, you will improve when it comes to those things and grow stronger in the process.” (“Fa Teaching Given at the Fa Conference Marking the Tenth Anniversary of Minghui’s Founding” from Teaching the Fa at the Conference X).
I truly hope that all practitioners pay attention to Minghui and have the correct mindset, because this is an essential part of our Fa-rectification period cultivation.
