(Minghui.org) While a married couple remains detained for their faith, their 18-year-old son has nowhere to turn.
Mr. Zu Chao and his wife, Ms. Liu Ruiru, are both natives of Chaoyang City, Liaoning Province. They worked in Cixi City, Zhejiang Province prior to their arrest on September 7, 2017. They were targeted because they refused to renounce Falun Gong, a spiritual discipline being persecuted by the Chinese communist regime.
Their son, who attends a boarding school in Cixi, usually returned to his parents’ apartment once every month. Now that the apartment had been ransacked and cordoned off by police, the teenager has nowhere to go when school is not in session. With no other family members around, the young boy is also extremely worried who is going to fill prescriptions for his schizophrenia and who is going to give him money to cover the next semester’s tuition.
He also can’t understand why his parents are detained for following Falun Gong’s principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance to improve mind and body. He still vividly remembers how his father quit smoking and his mother recovered from arthritis by doing Falun Gong exercises.
He learned from local Falun Gong practitioners in Cixi that his parents have both been issued formal arrest warrants on October 7 and are now facing indictment. His mother is also on a hunger strike in protest of the illegal detention.
