(Minghui.org) I am 66 years old and have practiced Falun Gong for more than 20 years. I had tried to memorize and recite Zhuan Falun twice but stopped both times without success.
I resumed my effort to memorize Zhuan Falun again after reading a practitioner's sharing article on World Falun Dafa Day 2017. I have not finished memorizing the book, but I have enlightened to many principles and regret not starting earlier.
My purpose for memorizing and reciting is to study the Fa. So I keep reading the book every day and use any additional time to memorize the Fa. I generally recite sentence by sentence, not paragraph by paragraph. The advantage of this is that I don't feel it's too difficult to memorize. But this is just superficial. The most important thing is to study the Fa with the heart.
I previously read without truly applying my mind. Initially when I started to recite Zhuan Falun, I could not make much progress and felt there was a layer blocking my brain from receiving the Fa. I even felt sleepy while reciting.
This soon changed, as I believe Master helped me and removed some bad substances for me. My field became clear. I understood each sentence and recited it easily. In addition, Fa principles manifested. I often suddenly enlighten to principles and understand many questions that I had not understood before.
I have benefited from reciting the Fa and have enlightened to many principles. My cultivation state has improved. I wish I had started doing this 20 years ago!
