(Minghui.org) It is common for prison guards, to avoid being held legally responsible, to instigate inmates to torture Falun Gong practitioners.
Mr. Wang Zhongming, an alias to protect his privacy, was a long-time criminal inmate. His health had become so bad that he could no longer do his work as a janitor. It was then arranged for him to monitor Falun Gong practitioners in 2014.
In the first two months, he was relentless with the practitioners. He deprived them of sleep and pressured them to write repentance statements.
The practitioners were still kind to Mr. Wang and tried to explain that good is rewarded and bad meets with retribution. They also suggested that he practice Falun Gong to improve his health.
To his surprise, Mr. Wang's health improved after doing the exercises for a while. He realized that he had treated the practitioners very badly. From then on he quietly protected them.
Three months later, someone reported Mr. Wang for not leaning on the practitioners the way he was supposed to and, instead, was practicing Falun Gong with them. He argued, “Falun Gong is very good. It cured my ailments. I want to continue practicing it to become a good person.”
Because he refused to give up his belief, Mr. Wang was locked in solitary confinement. He went on a hunger strike to protest the persecution and was force-fed three days later. He was then closely monitored and suffered the same mistreatment as the practitioners.
