(Minghui.org) Ms. Gong Fang from Guangzhou City was arrested on the evening of March 1, 2017, for bringing five copies of the book Zhuan Falun into China.
Ms. Gong, a Falun Gong practitioner, was stopped at Luohu Customs when she was returning from Hong Kong, for carrying five copies of Zhuan Falun, a book which is officially published and sold in Hong Kong. She was held at the Luohu Frontier Defense Inspection Station and then transferred to the Luohu Frontier Police Station the next day. She is currently detained at the Luohu Detention Center.
Her family members and attorney contacted law enforcement multiple times to get information about her. They were told that Ms. Gong's arrest had not been approved yet. But in fact the Procuratorate approved her arrest two weeks after she was arrested. Her attorney received the notice on the 39th day after her arrest.
Additionally, her family members and her attorney have been harassed and monitored. The law enforcement agents often gave them the runaround.
Her case has been sent to the Procuratorate. The Domestic Security Division is also investigating whether she has any connection with Falun Gong practitioners in Hong Kong.
Ms. Gong had been sentenced to three years in prison in 2015 for practicing Falun Gong. She just returned home last May after serving one year and eight months in jail. She has now been arrested again and has been detained for over two months. Her family is very worried.
