(Minghui.org) About two years ago, I opened a fast food restaurant that sells hamburgers and other items. Most of the ingredients are purchased already prepared and they are ready to serve after being fried. But chicken legs need to be cleaned and marinated. I always clean them several times before frying them, even though it takes me a long time.
One day, a friend saw me cleaning the chicken and asked, “Hey, you're not going to eat this, you're selling it to other people. Why are you so picky?” She was right. At many restaurants in China nowadays, they hardly clean the chicken.
“I think I need to be responsible to others, as if I was cooking for my family,” I explained. In addition to cleaning, I always change the frying oil more often than my peers; my customers' health is my top priority.
My main customers are elementary and middle school students, as well as their parents. Many of them tell me that they come to my restaurant because it's clean, the food is well prepared and it tastes better than the competition.
Once, a father came in with his daughter. When I saw them place a big order, I suggested that they skip some items. “You can always add them if needed. Otherwise, all that food may go to waste,” I said.
The father smiled and thanked me, “It's difficult to meet honest people like you these days. Alright then, let's do as you said.”
Later he asked me why I am different from other business owners. I said there was no particular reason, because I just want other people to be happy and healthy.
Then I told him, “I am a Falun Dafa practitioner. Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance are near and dear to my heart.”
