(Minghui.org) Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Qian Chunsen was a deputy chief at Zhangjiagang Customs. He has been subjected to intense persecution because he submitted a criminal complaint to China’s Supreme Court against Jiang Zemin in June 2015. Jiang Zemin is the former Chinese dictator who instigated the persecution of Falun Gong in 1999. Through a network of cronies, he maintains the persecution.
Agents from Nanjing Customs, Zhangjigang Customs, the provincial and city 610 Offices, and the Domestic Security Divisions participated in the persecution of Mr. Qian. Below is a timeline of actions against Mr. Qian since filing his complaint.
Several months after Mr. Qian filed the complaint
An agent from the Zhangjiagang Domestic Security Division went to see Mr. Qian and asked him about his lawsuit against Jiang.
December 20, 2015
Zhang Yidong, director of the Political Department at Nanjing Customs, demanded that Mr. Qian explain his lawsuit.
January 21, 2016
Members of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) at Nanjing Customs, Political Office director Yao Xing, Inspection Office deputy director Zhao Fei, Human Resources deputy head Xu Ming, and other staff members went to Zhangjiagang Customs and announced official actions against Mr. Qian. He was dismissed from the CCP and his position as deputy chief was suspended.
Mr. Qian was also ordered to sign a document that listed how he had violated their rules.
A meeting was held that afternoon for high-level officials at Zhangjiagang Customs. Mr. Qian's punishment was announced, and the information about Mr. Qian 's lawsuit against Jiang was also disclosed to all without his approval.
Subsequently, they assigned three people to monitor him and restricted his personal freedom. Yao Xing restricted his right to enter or leave Suzhou City. Hu Kehong, a previous chief at Zhangjiagang Customs, limited his right to enter or leave Zhangjiagang, which is a county within the city.
February 17, 2016
Mr. Qian was called into Zhangjiagang Customs to have a “conversation” with staff from the Suzhou 610 Office. They said that Hu Kehong had invited them.
March 18, 2016
Zhang Yidong again went to Zhangjiagang Customs and had a “formal conversation” with Mr. Qian. Zhang tried to force him to admit that suing Jiang was wrong. He tried to pressure Mr. Qian by threatening to withhold bonuses from all employees at Zhangjiagang Customs, in order to incite hatred of Falun Gong and Mr. Qian.
End of May 2016
Directed by Zhang Yidong, Hu Kehong forced Mr. Qian to meet with staff from the Suzhou 610 Office in order to pressure him to renounce Falun Gong. In the meanwhile, 610 agents collaborated with police officers to continually harass Mr. Qian's family.
Background
In 1999 Jiang Zemin, as head of the CCP, overrode other members of the Politburo Standing Committee and launched the violent suppression of Falun Gong.
The persecution has led to the deaths of many Falun Gong practitioners over the past 18 years. More have been tortured for their belief and even killed for their organs. Jiang Zemin is directly responsible for the inception and continuation of the brutal persecution.
Under his personal direction, the communist regime established an extralegal security organization, the 610 Office, on June 10, 1999. The organization overrides police forces and the judicial system in carrying out Jiang's directive regarding Falun Gong: to ruin their reputations, cut off their financial resources, and destroy them physically.
Chinese law allows its citizens to be plaintiffs in criminal cases, and many practitioners are now exercising that right to file criminal complaints against the former dictator.
