(Minghui.org) A new grandmother is facing indictment for talking to people about Falun Gong, a spiritual discipline being persecuted by the Chinese communist regime. She told her lawyer that she was beaten and force-fed unknown drugs at the local detention center.
Ms. Zhang Libin is a native of Mo'erdaoga Town, Erguna City, Inner Mongolia. She moved to Lingyuan City, Liaoning Province in 2017 to live with her daughter temporarily, as the younger woman ahd just had a new baby.
While taking care of her new grandchild, Ms. Zhang also told people that the persecution of Falun Gong has no legal basis and that Falun Gong is nothing like what is depicted by the state propaganda.
She was seized outside an elementary school on October 19, 2017 after being reported for talking to passersby about Falun Gong.
Chen Zhi, head of the Lingyuan City Domestic Security Office, used various excuses to stop Ms. Zhang’s lawyer from meeting her. When the lawyer finally got to see her at Chaoyang City Detention Center, she told him what had happened since her arrest.
Ms. Zhang was kicked and had her arms twisted behind her back during the arrest. She still had trouble lifting her arms.
She also said Gao Yaru, deputy director of the detention center, led a group people to beat her savagely. One of her teeth was knocked out. They also pried open her mouth and poured in some unknown drugs.
The lawyer noted that Ms. Zhang was in very poor health. Yellowish fluid kept oozing out of her mouth. She said that she had a relapse of her nephritis and suffered from leg cramps and numbness in her heels.
The Lingyuan City Domestic Security Office forwarded her case to the local procuratorate on December 28.
