(Minghui.org) Four months after two Hubei residents disappeared from their homes, their families learned that they were sentenced to three years in prison on September 18, 2018, in the Xisaishan District Court for talking to people about the persecution of their faith, Falun Gong.
Ms. Dong Guizhi, 65, and Ms. Ye Qingrong, 73, were reported to the police on May 28, 2018, by two staff members from the neighborhood committee, who saw them talking to people about Falun Gong and distributing Falun Gong information.
Although the police initially let both women go home after confiscating their brochures, they went to Ms. Dong's home that evening, confiscated her other Falun Gong items, and obtained her fingerprints.
Around 4 a.m. the next morning, Ms. Dong told Ms. Ye what the police had done. She disappeared shortly after that.
On the evening of June 4, a local practitioner went to visit Ms. Ye. She wasn't at home and it appeared that her home had also been ransacked. None of her relatives knew where she was.
Two days later, Ms. Ye's son reported her disappearance to the police, only to be told that she was being held in the detention center.
