(Minghui.org) I learned how to install satellite dishes for watching NTDTV in the summer of 2009. Unfortunately, installing the satellite equipment required paying the cost, delivery, repair, and maintenance fees myself. Due to financial difficulties and not having a car, I could not continue with the project.
There was a male practitioner who was willing to cooperate with me on the project, but I refused. I believed that such a arrangement was not proper, because I am a female practitioner.
Master offered many ways for me to save sentient beings. I did what I was able to do. When practitioners wanted to watch NTDTV, I wrote down specific information for them to go buy the materials themselves. If they needed help with installation, I would help them.
I later found out that several elderly practitioners asked the technical practitioners for help when the satellite systems at their homes did not receive a signal. It would only take the technical practitioners several seconds to fix the issues by changing the direction of the satellite dish reception.
The technicians, however, had to spend several hours going to the elderly practitioners' homes for such a simple issue. This happened several times, and each time, the practitioners only thanked the technicians without trying to fix the problem themselves. The technicians told them they only needed to turn the satellite dish and the issue would be solved. However, the senior practitioners were not willing to learn how to do it.
Master said:
“From now on, whatever you do, you should consider others first, so as to attain the righteous Enlightenment of selflessness and altruism. So from now on, whatever you do or whatever you say, you must consider others—or even future generations—along with Dafa’s eternal stability.” (“Non-Omission in Buddha-Nature,” from Essentials for Further Advancement)
Being considerate of others does not only mean how we should interact with ordinary people, but also practitioners. It is not right to waste a practitioner's time and money. Some elderly practitioners think it's not an issue to do that, but this behavior is the same as taking advantage of others. Even many ordinary people are careful about doing that.
I hope practitioners will be more considerate of each other and eliminate human attachments.
