(Minghui.org) Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Luo Chunquan of Xingning City, Guangdong Province was illegally arrested by Domestic Security officers in August 2018. The Domestic Security Division came up with some materials and presented Mr. Luo's case to the Procuratorate for them to indict him.
Nine officers from Xingning City Domestic Security Division went to Mr. Luo's home on August 29, 2018. They ransacked the home without presenting a search warrant, and confiscated a computer, a printer, and some books.
The police handcuffed Mr. Luo and his daughter. They pushed and beat his daughter when she struggled, before taking both of them to the police station.
Mr. Luo’s daughter told the police about the goodness of Falun Gong and urged them not to follow Jiang Zemin (former Party leader who initiated the persecution) in persecuting good people. The police later released her.
Mr. Luo was taken to a detention center. The family tried to visit him, but was denied.
Three Domestic Security officers went to Mr. Luo's home one month later. They told the family that he would soon be released and tried to trick them into signing a document that would be used to frame Mr. Luo. They threatened the family when they refused. The family members showed the officers Decree No. 50, news of which was published by the Chinese News Agency, which legitimized Falun Gong books and publications. The officers left afterwards.
The Domestic Security officers turned the case over to the Procuratorate on September 29 to have Mr. Luo indicted.
During this period, the family went to talk with judicial officers of all levels. The procurator told them that the case was still under investigation by police.
The police claimed that Mr. Luo refused to “transform” and would not reveal the sources of some items they found; therefore, they said, he would not be released.
Mr. Luo’s family learned on November 20, 2018, that the police department had turned over his case to the Procuratorate. There were no further details on the matter.
