(Minghui.org) I have been reading articles on the Minghui website almost every day for many years. Minghui articles have helped my daughter and I walk well on our cultivation paths.
My daughter had to do an internship to complete her college curriculum. To sidestep the internship requirement, and so she could gain professional experience, we decided to contact a business owner known to my husband.
She would work at the company for a few days and receive a certificate of internship completion. This was deceptive, because the time requirement was longer. But, this did not occur to me until I read an article on the Minghui website.
Not Succumbing to Pressure
The writer wrote that one should not mind what others do, as this is their business. But practitioners should be truthful. Asking someone to lie is asking that person to do a bad thing and thus it is unethical.
I felt fortunate that I came across the article. Otherwise I would not have realized that what I was doing was wrong.
My daughter called me in the evening and said that a student leader told her that her academic scores had met the criteria for receiving a scholarship, but her “moral education” score fell short.
The student leader suggested that she could have her aunt give her a certificate from her workplace, which stated that she did free cleaning at the company. This would raise her score for her moral education. However, my daughter has not done any work at her aunt's company.
She said that she would volunteer to do the cleaning at her aunt's company once per week after the score was changed. I told her that this was cheating.
However, the student leader put some pressure on her because that scholarship would be given to a student in another class unless she provided that certificate. Besides, all other students who received the scholarship had provided such a certificate.
I texted that she did not know what would happen if she got the scholarship, as well as Master's Fa.
Master said,
“Dafa disciples are not just unswayed by it all, but moreover, are going against the tide!” (“2018 Fa Teaching Given in Washington, D.C.”)
She texted back that she understood and would do what was right instead of what would be wrong. Given the Dafa standards “Truthfulness, Compassion, Forbearance,” she made the right decision.
When my daughter came home on the weekend, I showed her the Minghui articles, which helped her understand more clearly.
I told her, “Only by faking can one reach one's moral education scores, don't you think that is very ironic?”
My daughter told me that evening, “My student leader sent me a text message to let me know that I was awarded the top scholarship. She told our teacher about how I treated this matter, and the teacher decided to add 15 marks to my moral education scores.”
It was just as Master said,
“If something is yours, you will not lose it. If something is not yours, you will not have it even if you fight for it.” (Zhuan Falun)
