(Minghui.org) A Changchun City resident was secretly sentenced to six years in prison for practicing Falun Gong, a mind-body discipline that has been persecuted by the Chinese communist regime since 1999.
Under the totalitarian Chinese communist regime, many judges and prosecutors have long become rubber stamps and they often hand down pre-determined prison sentences against Falun Gong practitioners without due process.
Ms. Leng Fengling's family, who was never informed of her trial, was shocked to find out about her imprisonment when they tried to visit her at Changchun No.4 Detention Center in mid-November. A detention center guard told them that she had been transferred to Jilin Women's Prison on November 8.
Her family rushed to the prison, only to be told that she wasn't on the list of detainees there. They finally met with Ms. Leng when they returned to the prison on December 10. She told her family that she was sentenced to six years for “undermining law enforcement with a cult organization,” a standard pretext used by the communist regime to criminalize Falun Gong practitioners.
The prison now allows her family to visit her once every month.
Ms. Leng was arrested on March 7, 2018. The police spent nearly four hours ransacking her home. Her Falun Gong books and related materials, as well as her computer and printer, were confiscated.
