(Minghui.org) Ms. Wang Guizhen, a 55-year-old Falun Gong practitioner from Changchun, was arrested at the Yanminghu Market by officers from the Fenjin Police Station on November 11, 2018. They took her to the Weizigou Detention Center and held her for 10 days. She was transferred to Changchun No. 4 Detention Center on November 21.
According to the Fenjin Police Station officer in charge of her case, they had been monitoring Ms. Wang for a while. She was observed and recorded going to the Yanminghu Market to distribute Falun Gong informational materials several times. They used their video recordings as evidence.
Tortured in Forced Labor Camp in 2001
Ms. Wang was tortured in 2001 when she was held in the Heizuizi Women's Forced Labor Camp. Because she refused to give up practicing Falun Gong, did not cooperate with the officers, and would not give her name and address, labor camp guard Liu Lianying repeatedly shocked her with electric batons. Ms. Wang's entire body was covered with blisters from the electric shocks, and her face and neck had numerous cuts.
One day in the dining area, Liu Lianying threatened Ms. Wang, “I will shock you later. I will shock you to death!”
Ms. Wang was tortured mentally and physically, ruining her health. She vomited and coughed up blood. When she couldn't eat, she was force-fed food and drugs. Later she was taken to a mental hospital and injected with a drug that damaged her central nervous system. After this “treatment,” Ms. Wang was in a constant state of confusion.
Because of the abuse Ms. Wang was subjected to in the forced labor camp, she became critically ill three times. She was finally released when she was on the verge of death and the guards had extorted 1,000 yuan from her family. Her weight dropped from 120 to 66 lbs. She could not recognize her own family. She had panic attacks and sometimes shouted for no reason. She could not take care of herself. It took several years for Ms. Wang to recover from her ordeal.
