(Minghui.org) A teacher at Lechang City Vocational School was sentenced to five years in prison on December 26, 2017 for refusing to renounce Falun Gong, a spiritual discipline being persecuted by the Chinese communist regime.
Mr. Liang Jianjun’s wife hired a lawyer to appeal his case, but Dai Lei, a vice president of Shaoguan Intermediate Court, refused to hold an open hearing as required by law. He referred the case back to Lechang City Detention Center, where Mr. Liang remains at the time of writing. Detention centers are not judicial organs and have no authority to issue any verdicts.
Mr. Liang’s lawyer protested against Dai’s decision, but Dai ignored him.
Mr. Liang’s wife then filed complaints with the higher court’s supervising agencies in Guangzhou (capital city of Guangdong Province), as well as Supreme People’s Court and Supreme People’s Procuratorate in Beijing. She has received confirmation of receipt of her complaints.
The complaints targeted Dai and agents from Lechang City 610 Office, an extra-legal agency tasked with eradicating Falun Gong and given power to override the judicial system.
Mr. Liang’s wife recalled that Li Genquan and Liu Lan, both heads of the 610 Office, came with police to ransack her home after arresting her husband at work on May 25, 2017.

Huang Xuebin, another 610 Office head, threatened to uphold Mr. Liang’s guilty verdict should his wife expose their crimes against Mr. Liang.
