(Minghui.org) The Quit the CCP (Chinese Communist Party) Center of Boston held an event in the local Chinatown on April 14 to congratulate the 300 million+ people who have renounced their membership in the Party and its affiliates. The event, which was held in the vicinity of the Chinatown gate, included a rally, poster displays, and a traditional Chinese waist drum performance. Passersby gathered to enjoy the music and to find out more about what was going on.

Diana, a volunteer from the Quit the CCP Center, spoke at the event.
Diana, a volunteer at the Quit the CCP Center, said it is a historic moment for so many Chinese to have severed ties with the Party. “These people understand the dignity of life and have made good decisions for their futures,” she said.

The Epoch Times published a book called Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party in November 2004. The book led a large number of Chinese people to become clear about the communist party's history of lies and violence. Since that time, over 302 million people have agreed to quit the Party and its affiliates, registering their intent on the Epoch Times website. The Communist Youth League and the Young Pioneers are among the Party affiliates from which these people have renounced their memberships.
Nearly 100,000 people announce their withdrawals from these organizations every day. “This means more people have broken away from the Party lies and started to act on their own conscience. This is the great hope for China,” explained Diana.

David Matas, a renowned human rights lawyer, attended the event. He and his associates have spent many years investigating organ harvesting atrocities in China, where Falun Gong practitioners and other prisoners of conscience are murdered for their organs. He urged an end to forced organ harvesting in China.
Ms. Cai was on hand to explain her personal experience of persecution. She told how the communist party harassed her, arrested her, and sent her to a forced labor camp for three years, all because she dared to talk openly about the benefits of Falun Gong and the brutalities of the persecution it faced in China. The nightmare lasted for 10 years until she came to the United States. She hopes more people will abandon the communist party, embrace traditional values, and help to restore morality and goodness in Chinese society.
Bill Guerriero, retired history professor in Boston University, stopped by to thank practitioners for their perseverance. He learned about the persecution of Falun Gong in China as well as the Quitting CCP (also known as Tuidang) movement from a student while teaching history in his classroom.
“You are doing very well,” he remarked, “You have my support and please keep it up.”
