(Minghui.org) Ms. Gao Shuying was arrested at her home by officers from the Tahe County Domestic Security Division on the morning of April 20, 2018. Within 13 days, she was critically ill. Despite her condition, the court refused to release her so that she could get medical attention.
After Ms. Gao was arrested, she was taken to the hospital for a physical exam. When she went into spasms, they injected her with drugs to mask her symptoms so that she could be taken back to the detention center.
Ms. Gao was unable to eat and her condition continued to deteriorate. The detention center refused to let her family visit her. They kept asking the family for money and told them that they would not provide medical treatment for Ms. Gao or arrange for an IV unless they were paid.
Later, they secretly rushed Ms. Gao to the emergency room when her condition became critical.
Ms. Gao's family was worried about her and asked repeatedly to be allowed to visit, but the police kept denying their requests.
The lawyer the family hired asked to get involved, but the court kept delaying any notice of the status of her case. Ms. Gao was tried on May 2, 2018. The court did not notify either her family or her lawyer of the trial.
