(Minghui.org) A 43-year-old woman was grocery shopping on May 2, 2018, when plainclothes officers arrested her.
Ms. Li Jinfang, a resident of Hanshan County, was targeted because she refused to renounce Falun Gong, a spiritual discipline being persecuted by the Chinese communist regime.
The police also went to Ms. Li's 15-year-old daughter's school to question her on what she knew about her mother's practice of Falun Gong. The teenager was extremely worried about her mother and went to Yuncao Police Station to see her.
When the young girl got there, she happened to see police beating and handcuffing her mother. The girl started to cry
The police also ransacked Ms. Li's rental place and confiscated her Falun Gong books. They next transferred her to Hanshan County Police Department, where they interrogated her and had her blood drawn and picture taken.
During the medical exam, the police were notified that Ms. Li had a heart problem, but they still forced Maanshan City Detention Center to admit her.
Ms. Li, whose husband works out of town, was issued a formal arrest warrant on May 16. While she remains detained, her daughter, who will soon have to take the high school entrance exam, is left to fend for herself.
