(Minghui.org) Mr. Li Wenbo received a phone call on May 16, 2018 asking him to report to the local Kunyang Police Station.
He and his 82-year-old mother went there the following morning. He was escorted back home, and his mother was held in police custody.
Mr. Li was sent to Laowangba Detention Center in Jinning County after police searched his home. This is not the first time that the Kunming City resident has been targeted for refusing to renounce Falun Gong, a spiritual discipline being persecuted by the Chinese communist regime. He was given 3 years and 3 months of forced labor shortly after the persecution began in July 1999 and sentenced to 5 years in prison in 2009.
Mr. Li's mother protested against her son's latest arrest, and she fell during her tussle with the police. Four officers sent her to the local hospital. As soon as her family arrived, the police took off.
That night, Mr. Li's family went to inquire about his status, but received no answer.
They went the next day and chief Feng Yunliang said that they had arrested Mr. Li because he delivered Falun Gong materials to the local government agencies.
