(Minghui.org) Falun Gong practitioners from Canada participated in four community events last weekend. Many interested people took the chance to learn about this self-improvement practice that is guided by Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance.
Dragon Boat Festival in Toronto
The 30th Toronto Dragon Boat Festival was held on Toronto Centre Island last weekend. Nearly 200 teams with 5,000 members from Canada, America, Europe, and Australia competed as 100,000 visitors watched.
Local Falun Gong practitioners passed out flyers, demonstrated the exercises, collected signatures on petitions protesting the persecution, and taught the exercises.

Peter Gelfer from California was moved to see when he saw pictures of the forced organ harvesting in China. He signed the petition to condemn the persecution.
Dieubart from France learned all five exercises.
Seyd from India learned the exercises with his son.
Denise from Detroit and her daughters signed the petition.
Danielle (right) from Lebanon and her mother took a flyer. They both want to learn the exercises.
Many Chinese were also glad to run into Falun Gong practitioners at the festival.
Mr. Wang and his family moved to Canada from China six years ago. They talked to practitioners for a long time. Mr. Wang said, “I never believed the Communist Party's propaganda that slandered Falun Gong. After I moved to the free world, I read a lot on the Internet, and I understand that Falun Gong teaches people to be good. I downloaded the Falun Gong books and videos and started to learn by myself.
“This is the first time I've ever talked to a practitioner,” he added. “I am very pleased. I will send my kids to the Falun Gong summer camp.”
Ms. Zhang was excited to see Falun Gong. “I've finally found you!” she said.
Ms. Zhang has a severe eye disease, and her friend told her about Falun Gong. “I downloaded the instruction video, but I am not sure if my movements are correct or not,” she said. “I've been looking for you!”
Mr. Zhou has also been looking for Falun Gong practitioners. “My mom used to practice in China. Fear of being persecuted made her give it up, but she told me to find Falun Gong when I left China, so I am very happy I ran into you today,” he said and thanked the practitioner who taught him the exercises.

Lynda Bonus (left) and her mother applauded the Falun Gong entry. “They are amazing! All kinds of instruments and everybody smiling. They should have the freedom to practice this in China,” said Lynda.
