(Minghui.org) A woman in Chibi City, Hubei Province, was tried for refusing to give up her faith in Falun Gong on October 18, 2019. Her husband, who has not been allowed to visit her since her arrest four months ago, was barred from attending the hearing.
Falun Gong, also known as Falun Dafa, is a spiritual discipline that has been persecuted by the Chinese communist regime since 1999.
Ms. Zhu Xueying, in her 60s, was arrested on June 26, 2019, after being reported for talking to people about Falun Gong together with another practitioner, Ms. Li Sibao, also in her 60s.
The police ransacked both women’s homes and held them in the Chibi City Detention Center.
Ms. Li was released on July 11, 2019, but Ms. Zhu remains in custody. Her family hasn’t been allowed to visit her and has been kept in the dark about the status of her case. Her retirement pension was suspended after her arrest.
After learning that Ms. Zhu was scheduled to appear in Chibi City Court on October 18, 2019, her husband rushed to the courthouse, only to be dragged outside and barred from attending because he called out her name when he saw her.
A court-appointed lawyer entered a guilty plea for Ms. Zhu. She is now awaiting a verdict in the detention center.
