(Minghui.org) A Guangzhou City resident recently filed complaints against two judicial officials who got him sentenced to eight years in prison for mailing pamphlets to police about his faith in Falun Gong.
Mr. Yang Qiuren, 44, filed the complaints with the Guangzhou City Supervisory Commission, Guangzhou Intermediate Court and Guangzhou City Procuratorate, against judge Cao Zhihua of Tianhe District Court and prosecutor Ding Chunhua of Tianhe District Procuratorate.
Both Cao and Ding are responsible for Mr. Yang's lengthy prison sentence announced on September 25, 2018, nearly one year after his court appearance on October 30, 2017.
Mr. Yang was arrested on May 12, 2017 for mailing the pamphlets to the police.
Mr. Yang maintained that he didn't violate any law in mailing the materials, which he said were pure facts about the communist regime's persecution against Falun Gong, a mind-body practice based on the principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance.
“Instead of investigating the persecution, the police labeled my materials as 'propaganda' for inciting subversion and charged me with 'undermining law enforcement'. But no evidence was ever presented regarding how I broke the law with the materials.” he said in the complaint.
“The lengthy verdict only mentioned the amount of pamphlets I mailed and how I made them, without touching upon what was in it and why I mailed them to the police.”
This is the second time that Mr. Yang has been imprisoned for his faith in Falun Gong. He had previously served an 8-year term at Nanchang Prison between 2002 and 2010. He lost most of his vision in the right eye as a result of brutal torture.
