(Minghui.org) Falun Gong practitioners were invited to introduce the meditation practice and demonstrate the five exercises to the college staff at Waterford College of Further Education. The invitation came from the Head of the Media and Music Department, Michelle Daly, in February.
Practitioners introduced Falun Dafa, its principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance, a brief history of the spiritual discipline, and how they benefited from practicing Dafa and how it helped them become better people.
They then demonstrated the exercises to the staff and students, who were eager to learn them.

The practitioners also informed the attendees of the persecution of Falun Gong by the communist regime in China, including the state-sanctioned killing of practitioners for organs.
After they explained the persecution to the Waterford City & County Council in 2018, the councilors unanimously passed a motion condemning the persecution of Falun Gong in China, which reads:
1) This Council calls on the Irish government to ratify, as soon as possible, the Convention Against Trafficking in Human Organs, which was adopted by the Council of Europe on July 9, 2014, in order to criminalize illegal organ transplantations. The Irish Government has already signed this Convention, and it is waiting to be ratified.
2) This Council calls on the Irish Government, as a matter of urgency to emphatically ask the Chinese Government to cease the persecution of Falun Gong and release immediately all Falun Gong practitioners and other prisoners of conscience from detention. The Oireachtas Joint Committee on Foreign Affairs and Trade, and Defense, on July 6, 2017, heard compelling testimony from a distinguished panel of both international and Irish medical and legal experts on the Forced Live Organ Harvesting, and other severe human rights abuses imposed upon millions of peaceful Falun Gong practitioners.
