(Minghui.org) I was just starting out on a Master’s degree in Computer Science back in 2002. In one of the classes there was an assignment that involved making a life-like scene using computer modeling and ray-tracing technology.
I had been practicing Falun Dafa for around three years by this time and was always looking for small ways to let people know about the practice. I created a scene with some Falun and the characters for Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance and submitted it for the assignment.
For the past few years, I have been back at the same university working on a Doctorate and happened to walk through the Computer Science building. I saw my picture still hanging there and realized that the picture had been displayed in a prominent walkway in the department for the past 17 years.
Aside from the many undergraduate students that go through the university each year, many Chinese graduate students and lecturers come to the university. This small picture had been there all this time, clarifying the truth in some small way.
Thinking about this helped me realize the importance of every small thing we may do in our lives. Things that seem insignificant might have a big impact over time. Finding ways to clarify the truth in calm and rational ways amid our everyday lives is important.
In The Sixth Talk of Zhuan Falun (2018 translation), Master Li Hongzhi says:
“The fact is simply that anyone who really does have an energy like gong will leave traces of it on whatever he or she touches, shining and radiant, without even consciously emitting it.”
I think this is especially true of the music and art that we create for the purpose of clarifying the truth.
