(Minghui.org) The article “Do Not Use 'Catch Phrases' to Cover up Attachments” mentioned situations when sometimes, we as practitioners conclude that we didn't do well using catch phrases such as “I haven't been diligent in my Fa study” or “We are lacking a group Fa study environment.”
In these cases, it is more likely that our cunning attachments and thought karma are hiding behind these catch phrases. They want to block us from looking within on a deeper level and protect themselves from being identified and eliminated by our righteous thoughts.
Actually, using Fa study or the cultivation environment as an excuse is to look outward instead of within. It implies that we ourselves do not have problems. It is those external reasons which have caused problems, so we think that we will naturally do well once those situations are fixed.
I know a fellow practitioner who was by herself in cultivation and didn't have access to the Minghui website. She didn't use the catch phrase “lack of group cultivation environment” to justify things. Instead, she remained diligent in her Fa study and kept doing what she knew that she should do: sending letters to people to tell them about Falun Dafa. After she moved to our region, she found other practitioners and joined our group so that she can do the three things better.
She is a good example of a clear-minded true practitioner: always managing their own cultivation proactively, instead of waiting for help and suggestions from other practitioners.
If we can access the Minghui website, we already have a good cultivation environment. Every day, there are new sharing articles of how other practitioners are doing. It encourages us to keep up with the progress of Fa-rectification.
Cultivation is the most serious thing in the world. We cannot fool ourselves or cover up our attachments. Our righteous sides should take control and eliminate every unrighteous factor so that we won't miss out on this unprecedented opportunity.
